Beautiful for Situation

Lord,
the ancients have said
that you are beautiful for situation,
and I have found it to be true.
You were beautiful when I had to flee the house
in the middle of the night for safety,
when I had to run to a town
that I never heard of
where I had no friends or home.
And You were beautiful
the night I woke up
in an old trailer with broken windows,
and I cried because I was so cold and broken hearted.
And You were beautiful
when I went to the emergency room
complaining of a broken heart,
and they put me in chains and shackles,
like I had committed a crime,
and sent me to a prison
for the sick and unwanted.
And then the night when the neighbors
fired shots outside my window and threatened me
you were beautiful
BECAUSE YOU WERE THERE.
And if, in this crime ridden world
they break into my home and kill me,
and I meet You in the air from a pool of blood
on the floor,
You will still be beautiful
because You are God.
Listen,
everything in the air seems to move.
The Earth moves around the sun,
and the sun moves
around the center of the universe,
and all the stars are in constant motion.
The only thing in known existence
that is centered is You,
and the entire universe is balanced
on Your shoulders.
So I pray
that when things
are moving around in my life,
and when people pass in and out,
and the shadows of the sun and moon
move over me,
that all my love
is centered
on the wheel within the wheel,
the hub of all creation,
Jesus Christ.
