Any couple that takes a walk down the aisle has the concept of having the most beautiful wedding that anyone has ever seen. However, this is not something that is easily done, nor is it cheap. Those planning a wedding are aware of the fact that the most expensive part of the wedding, after the wedding dress and the reception venue/food are the decorations. There are methods and wedding decoration tips that can lower the cost of the big day and allow the happy couple to either pocket the money to begin the rest of their lives or use it for other things.

Dual Duty

One of the best wedding decoration tips to cut the costs on decorations is to have items that can be used at the location of the ceremony, as well as at the reception. One great idea is to use candles. Many couples choose candlelit ceremonies. Enter the glass hurricanes. Many times the hurricanes encase pillar candles on the ends of church pews, when having a church ceremony. These candle/hurricane combos can easily be removed from the church and taken to the reception location. Once at the reception venue, add either a small square 1' x 1' mirror or nice silver-tone tray underneath, and this adds great ambiance to the overall reception décor.

Two Types of Flowers

Another idea for wedding decorations on a budget is to use two types of flowers for the event. In areas where the flowers are to be placed where they will not be at eye level or will only be seen closely by members of the wedding party, opt for silk flowers. Mind you that some silk flowers can be costly, but there are some cheaper versions that are not as lifelike. However, they will serve their purpose. For the flowers that will be used on the seating tables or where food is being served, opt for either more lifelike silk flowers or live flowers.

Go Beyond the Florist

Wholesale flowers are one of the best options to use when choosing wedding decoration on a budget. Many of them are located across the country, and especially in locations where many flowers are grown. If you live in a smaller town, where this is not an option, the flower can also be order and many flower wholesalers online. It's best to look through bridal books to get ideas for the arrangements. Also keep in mind that if this is for a larger ceremony, you will need to either have a professional or floral hobbyist to put the arrangements together. One reason is that you will only be able to do them so far in advance, because real flowers will wilt and won't look fresh for the event.

Borrow

Normally, it is not hard for a bride-to-be to find a friend who has recently taken the walk down the aisle. There is no better idea than to ask her if she kept the decorations from her wedding, if you may borrow them for yours or even rent them from her. In many instances, if she kept the decorations, they are simply sitting in someone's attic just waiting to get a little use, once again.

With these wedding decoration tips, there is definitely a chance that one can save a few dollars while still enjoying their wedding decorations on a budget.
