So - a beach, a vineyard, a ballroom, a winery, a Victorian home, or a railroad station? Wedding sites can be found just about everywhere now with wineries and vineyards being quite popular. Your ceremony might take place at the same site as the reception; often the ceremony will be held outdoors at one venue, then move (but on the same property) so the reception is held inside. Ceremonies are still done in churches, temples and synagogues with the reception are being held almost anywhere.
In this article I'll mention a few beautiful wedding venues near Anchorage, Alaska. Our 49th state is very unique and whether you're a resident or planning a destination wedding there, you have many terrific options for your nuptials.
The first beautiful wedding site is the Inlet Tower Hotel and Suites which is ideal for smaller weddings. Ideally situated just south of downtown Anchorage, this location is a short walk from great shopping, the cultural center and only ten minutes from the airport. Their Tower Room can accommodate up to 80 guests depending on the configuration of the room. The Mixx Grill catering team offers a selection of hot and cold hors d'oeovres, various buffet menus, as well as a spicy Southwestern Grill menu and a Salmon bake meal or dinner with a carving station. There are also guest rooms at the hotel for out of town wedding guests. (Visit inlettower.com for details.)
Next, the Bill Sheffeld Alaska Railroad Depot - a very unique site for your special day! This Anchorage depot has soaring windows featuring marvelous views of the Chugach Mountains and Anchorage cityscape. The chic interior and its elegant lighting will provide the perfect backdrop for your reception. Its capacity ranges from just over 200 guests for a sit down meal to 500 for a standing reception. Here you will bring your own (licensed) caterer although their on-site coordinator will help with all the details to make your wedding special. Insurance is required and alcohol can be served but the provider must be licensed. There are some black-out dates from May to September due to the summer train schedules. The Anchorage Historical Depot is also available for smaller groups from September to May (summer events are prohibited due to train schedules.) (Please visit akrr.com for more information.)
The final beautiful wedding venue is the Alaska Native Heritage Center, a unique location in with easy access, free parking, and spectacular views of Lake Tiulana from its floor to ceiling windows. With a number of facility configurations you'll find one to best meet your needs. Their theatre accommodates 100 guests, the Gathering Place can handle 180 guests and the outdoor deck can host 80 people. There are outdoor venues available when weather permits. Horizons Catering can provide various menus from a simple array of appetizers to a full course banquet meal. You can have a dance floor set up, hire a storyteller and other services from this organization. (Check out alaskanative.net for additional information)
Many of these wedding venues book up very quickly, sometimes 18 to 24 months in advance. Please be sure to reserve your site as early as possible.
There are many more beautiful wedding venues in the Anchorage area. These are just a few places to help you get started in looking at the various sites in this part of the

Post a CommentOur photographer http://www.ekstasisphotography.blogspot.com gave us 5 hrs and a DVD of our photos for $349! And the pictures were great! We weren't going to hire a photographer, but for that price it was totally worth it. There were additional add-ons if you want more and everything was so reasonably priced - HAD to SHARE! I found them on facebook - www.facebook.com/ekstasis.photography - msg them to request sample work and mention the price I got in case they change - I can't see it staying that low for long!
