A beach, a vineyard, a ballroom, a winery, a Victorian home, or ? Wedding venues can be found just about everywhere you can think of. Your ceremony might take place at the same site as the reception; often the ceremony will be held outdoors at one site, then move (still on the same property) so the reception is held inside. Ceremonies are still done in churches, temples and synagogues with the reception are being held almost anywhere.
In this article I'll mention a few beautiful wedding venues near Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The first beautiful wedding venue was built in 1927 and is included in the list of
National Register of Historic Places. It is the Scottish Rite Temple of Cedar Rapids and is located within easy walking distance of downtown. Their auditorium, which seats 400, would work well for the ceremony and their banquet room was recently been restored and can handle up to 600 guests. Catering services are available and there is convenient parking for your wedding guests. Special effect lighting and a sound system are also available. Rooms on the second and third floors can be used by members of the bridal party to prepare for the ceremony. (Please go to crscottishrite.org for details.)
Next, is the Longbranch Hotel and Convention Center. This Best Western property recently remodeled their banquet facilities. They have several rooms that can accommodate 30 guests up to 450 people. Their catering staff can customize your wedding with a variety of theme menus and beverage options. The smaller rooms would be ideal for a smaller wedding reception or pre and post-nuptial parties. The hotel on the property makes it very convenient for your out of town guests. There is a restaurant and lounge on the premises along with a swimming pool, hot tub, health club, billiards, and other amenities to keep your guests entertained when not attending wedding events. They also have honeymoon suites available. (Please visit thelongbranch.com for more information.)
The final beautiful wedding venue is A Touch of Class. This facility has outdoor venues also - they have a 2.5 acre park as well as a another area with a gazebo nestled in a meticulously landscaped lawn surrounded by a grove of mature trees. Indoors, their two banquet rooms rooms have a capacity of 20 people up to 400 guests. Their catering staff will work with you to create a memorable menu - it might be a baron of beef carved on site, chicken kiev, a yummy Italian pasta dish, or a delicious buffet. Ask about their seasonal pricing - it varies according to the season. There is a complimentary shuttle service to/from many area hotels and ample free parking is available onsite. Wood dance floors can be provided and commercial sound systems are also available. (Check out atouchofclassbanquets.com for additional information)
Many of these wedding venues book up very quickly, sometimes 18 to 24 months in advance. Please be sure to reserve your site as early as possible.
There are many more beautiful wedding venues in this part of Iowa. These are just a few places to help you get started in looking at the various sites in this part of the state.
