Fortunately, today there is a myriad of places to hold a wedding - let your imagination go wild here. A winery, a beach, a formal ballroom, a vineyard, a Victorian home, or maybe even a destination wedding. Ceremonies can be held at the same site as the reception; your ceremony can be outdoors at one venue, then move (but on the same property) so the reception is done inside. Some ceremonies are done in churches and the receptions are being held anywhere.
In this article I'll mention a few beautiful wedding venues on Bainbridge Island in Washington. This community, only 35 minutes from Seattle by ferry is a city surrounded by densely forested hills and calm harbors. Bainbridge Island is a vibrant, diverse community that is rich in history and culture and natural beauty
The first beautiful wedding venue is Doc's Marina Grill on Madison Avenue, just a short walk from the ferry terminal. The building Doc's Marina Grill is in is the last of the old historic working waterfront on Bainbridge Island. And, is perfect for a casual, fun wedding reception. Enjoy a wedding meal including dishes such as Sauteed Artichoke Hearts, Misty Isle Farms Beef, Northwest seafood and/or Linguine Al Fresco. They'll help plan an innovative menu ranging from amazing filet mignon to fresh Alaskan halibut. Wine and beer only please. And, be sure to ask the staff about the stories when this eatery was known as Mac's. (Visit docsgrill.com for details.)
Another beautiful wedding site is the Wing Point Country Club and Golf Course. You'll find lush fairways surrounded by tall trees making great backdrops for your wedding photos. They have facilities to accommodate 25 to 150 guests. The various rooms are rented in 4-hour time blocks and all catering is handled by their culinary staff. Although they do specialty cakes, they will allow you to bring in your own wedding cake. They offer a full beverage service including hard liquor; all beverages must be purchased from the country club. You must be a member of the Wing Point Country Club to use these facilities. (Please visit wingpointgolf.com for more information.)
The next beautiful wedding venue is the Bainbridge Island Park system. The parks are beautiful with various "looks" to serve as a backdrop for pictures or to surround you as you recite your nuptials. Facilities range from gazebos to halls where you can hold an indoor reception. Rental rates vary according to the facility being used, whether it's non-profit event (your wedding would not be, of course), and depends if you're a resident of the island or not. There are kitchen facilities at some of the sites. (Check out biparks.org for additional information)
Many of these wedding venues book up very quickly, often a year or more in advance. Please be sure to reserve your site as early as possible.
There are other more beautiful wedding venues on this delightful island. These are just a few places to help you get started in looking at the various sites in this area.
Happy Wedding planning.
