Beautiful Wedding Venues Near Gilroy, California

Congratulations! You're engaged. Now comes the first part of your life together as a couple - planning your wedding.

It is one of the most important events in your life and the wedding site the two of you will select will set the tone of your nuptials.

A hotel, a winery, a beach, a vineyard, a Victorian home, a ballroom or wherever else you can think of. Wedding venues can be found just about everywhere now with wineries and vineyards being quite popular. Ceremonies are sometimes done at the same site as the reception; often the ceremony will be held outdoors at one venue, then move (on the same property) so the reception can be held indoors. Many ceremonies are still done in churches and the receptions are being held almost anywhere.

In this article I'll mention a few beautiful wedding venues near Gilroy, California. I have many fond memories of Gilroy - it's an area I've spent a lot of time in. You'll probably know it as the site of the annual Garlic Festival every July. It's always hot but fun to attend. Delicious, too!

The first beautiful wedding venue is an old, historic Colonial Spanish mansion called Adagio. Adagio is located at the base of the Gavilan Mountains in Gilroy. As you drive up to the mansion on a road lined with 50 trees, you'll pass a 15-foot tall Fountain of Cheurbs. The original two-story home lies between two towering redwoods, with ferns are their bases, and three massive oak trees. Just beneath these old oak trees is a pebble lined patio. The first level includes over an acre of lawn with beautiful white flowers and greenery. Three largepicture windows look out over this area and onto the soaring redwoods. Outside over 800 cherry trees with their blossoms (in the spring) serve as a backdrop for weddings. The front lobby area has Spanish tile and 3 large arches that look out to the patio grass. Inside you'll find agranite wine bar with 1000 wine bottles of wine lying in dark cabinets and framed by highly detailed carved grape and vine trim. A wooden railing is mounted on the original restored 1927 wrought iron railing as it climbs gracefully to the second floor with an octagonal window for gorgeous lighting effects. There is also a large balcony upstairs with is perfect for the bridal bouquet toss. The Bridal Suite overlooks the eastern side of Adagio and features glass windows all the way to the ceiling. The Grooms Room is next door and there is another large dressing room with tub and shower where up to 15 persons can get dressed in. The Cube Room is perfect for a sit down reception for 70 guests. Ample parking is available and you might consider using a valet parking service for your guests. You're welcome to bring your own caterer but the company must be from their preferred list. Amplified music is allowed both inside and out. Chef Alex, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy will meet with you to work on the details of your special day. (Visit adagioweddings.com for details.)

Another beautiful wedding site is La Vigna at Hecker Pass Winery. Here you'll find serene vistas of vineyards and rolling hills along with a three-generation winery and wine store. Their banquet room features a beautifully polished granite bar, gleaming hardwood floors with picture windows and French Doors leading out to a large patio. The surrounding vineyards will make perfect frames for your wedding pictures. There is a cozy room in the back, beautifully appointed, for the bridal party to prepare in. They offer full catering services or you may bring in your own. The only alcohol allowed is wine, champagne and beer and Hecker Pass Winery own all beverage rights. (Please visit heckerpasswinery.com for more information.)

The next beautiful wedding venue is the former J & L Ranch where you can enjoy a lakeside wedding. This 1,200 acre facility, Lakeside Weddings, features a magnificent outdoor setting for both your wedding ceremony and reception. They have both indoor and outdoor facilities with varying capacities of up to 1,000 guests. Panetta Catering will provide the catering, your beverage service with no corkage fee, the wedding cake and offers a DJ service also. They will be happy to meet with you to discuss menus and provide sample tastings. Panetta Catering has several other locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. They will also cater at a site of your choosing. (Check out panettas-catering.com for additional information)

Many of these wedding venues book up very quickly, sometimes 18 to 24 months in advance. Please be sure to reserve your site as early as possible.

There are many more beautiful wedding venues in the Gilroy area. These are just a few places to help you get started in looking at the various sites in this area.

Great choices. I just wouldn't know which to choose.
