Beautiful Wedding Venues Near Palm Springs, CA
The Wedding Venue You Choose is One of the Most Important Decisions You'll Make
A winery, a beach, a vineyard, a ballroom, a Victorian home, or ? Wedding venues can be found just about everywhere now with wineries and vineyards being the most popular. Ceremonies are sometimes done at the same site as the reception; often the ceremony will be held outdoors at one venue, then move (but on the same property) so the reception is held inside. Many ceremonies are still celebrated churches and the receptions are being hosted just about anywhere.
In this article I'll mention a few beautiful wedding venues near Palm Springs, California. This beautiful desert area of California is full of elegant hotels, casinos, a plethora of restaurants, shopping areas, golf courses and luxurious mansions. Visitors include celebrities, politicians, entertainers, and heads of state along with a more mundane type of visitor - the tourist. It has long been a playground for the Hollywood set, although perhaps not as popular as it once was. The "Rat Pack" once relaxed and played here along with the Kennedy brothers, President John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy.
The first beautiful wedding venue is Parker Palm Springs with 13 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens surrounded by desert and mountains. It has a large ballroom in addition to smaller banquet rooms, hotel rooms, a spa and several eateries. On this magnificent property where Gene Autrey once lived, you'll find several sites that can accommodate 20 to 300+ guests. Their Grand Ballroom has one wall of all glass allowing sunlight and moonlight in to enhance your reception. It opens directly onto their gardens. Their staff will work with you to create a wonderful experience for both you and all your guests. Out of town guests will be kept busy using the spa, the swimming pools and dining at their two restaurants and The Lemonade Stand (serves drinks and snacks in the pool area). If this is a destination wedding, there are many activities nearby once you leave the property itself. There is also an adults only camp on the premises, Camp Psyc, a 4-day/3-night luxury experience. (Visit theparkerpalmsprings.com for details.)
What about having your wedding in - a castle! Yes, right in the middle of the California desert. California Castle is located in Yucca Valley in the hills above Palm Springs, less than 30 minutes from the downtown area. They have wedding packages which range from small weddings with less than 20 guests to ones with 150 people. Outside caterers are also allowed. Their accommodations include a guest house as well as the rooms in the castle. The guest house can also be used for the bride's changing room. Even man's best friend can come along to this wedding. There is a special "Castle Room" filled with suits of armor, tapestries with enough swords and shields to think you slipped back to medieval times. And, they'll provide you with costumes also. And, of course, a round table for the 12 knights plus a fireplace to finish off the room. There is also a media room and a game room. This location would make a great place for a destination wedding. For extra guests, there are additional motels in Yucca Valley and you're close to all the hotels and motels in Palm Springs. (Please visit californiacastle.com for more information.)
The next beautiful wedding venue is the Willows Historic Palm Springs Inn in the heart of Old Palm Springs Village. Imagine getting married in the place where Clark Gable and Carole Lombard honeymooned and where Shirley Temple played. The Willows Inn and the adjacent O'Donnell House have been restored to recreate the charming ambiance of yesteryear with modern amenities. The two properties can be easily combined for larger events. This Mediterranean Villa and the grounds are closed for each event, providing complete privacy for your wedding. Consider an outdoors ceremony in their garden area with towering palm trees overhead. Or, in front of a rock waterfall, while your guests sit under a permanent chapel-like structure with beautiful artwork overhead and charming chandeliers lighting the interior. The O'Donnell House has a lovely outdoor space for a reception offering vistas of the Palm Springs area. Their staff will work with you to ensure a unique, relaxed and memorable wedding day. There are also eight guestrooms on the property. This is a non-smoking environment and pets are not allowed. Handicap accessibility is somewhat limited so be sure to ask about that when you contact them. Check out thewillowpalmsprings.com for additional information)
Many of these wedding venues book up very quickly, sometimes 18 to 24 months in advance. Please be sure to reserve your site as early as possible.
There are many more beautiful wedding venues near the Palm Springs area. These are just a few places to get you started in looking at the various sites in this wonderful area.
