Beauty

Beauty

People covet it

People pay millions for it

I don't see the point

It's you which is the point

Not the outside as most people believe

I am lucky

I got my mothers genes

Which seem to grow more and more attractive with age

Unfortunately it sometimes is not so good

People tend to be jealous, unfair

Just seeing the outside and assuming

Believing you're just another pretty face

That your soul and spirit are constituted in superficial articles

So most days I pull on my stocking hat and baggy jeans

Go out into the world without the glorification of make-up or styled hair

So that maybe just maybe people will see past the outside and to the inner character

Beauty is nothing

Compassion and humanity is everything

How true! Society has become horribly superficial these days.

    I prefer toothless, one-eyed, and peg-legged myself.
