Beauty Beauty at Airport Security

Every year, people spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on beauty products, only to be taken away by airport security. Whether it's your favorite bottle of perfume, or your favorite night cream, security guards have no sensitivity to it being your favorite product or not; they simply take it away. Here are my top tips for that.

1 - Ask your beauty professional for sample sized products of your favorite hair/beauty items. Many manufacturers are tapping into the fact that clients want sample sized (travel safe) items. These beauty sets often come in great zipper or travel bags that include everything you need from a shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and often times one other styling aid. Pureology does a great job with travel sized items that are quick and easy to carry along with you anywhere you go.

2 - Label it yourself. I believe everyone should have an "on the go" beauty bag so there's no thought that goes into it. Simply go to the drug store, and purchase 2 oz size empty bottles. Label and fill at home with your favorite products or salon recommended items.

3 - Save money by NOT buying these items at airports. They are marked WAY up, and you can spend that $ elsewhere on vacation or during travel. Average beauty kits in an airport can cost $10-$20 bucks. You can do it yourself at home to the tune of about $5.

4 - If you have something you absolutely can't live without, ship it out in advance so it's waiting on you at your destination. I do this all the time when traveling for work or pleasure. It beats standing in lines to check luggage, and there's no hassle w/ airport security.
