Beauty and Hope

Jean Davis
If you ever feel there's no hope in this world

Just take a good deep breath and look around you.

Don't dare overlook even one small butterfly or sunlight glistening on

the morning dew.

The beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the sight has to come from within.

See, the eyes are the windows to the soul.

I'm sure you've heard that again and again.

Start early in the morning and make a list. It will be long at the end of the day.

First there's the first hint of daylight chasing the darkness away.

Then the first ray of sunshine. Maybe a bluebird's song.

The robin looking for the earliest worm; then comes the blue-jay along.

All the birds with each it's own special call.

There is every kind of flower you could imagine and that is far from all.

Don't miss the baby's giggle or the children laughing with glee.

Just let the light shine through the windows of your soul.

There is no limit to the hope and beauty you will see.
