Many people are looking for a better look. With estheticians and cosmetic surgery there are many treatments which are now available. With a wide array of results people have now taken note of many changes in the industry. In order to make sense of all the rapid development, I recently sat down with Dr. Raffi Dishakjian, M.D. His office, located in Porter Ranch, is open for consultation and appointment for all different kinds of medical aesthetics, laser treatment, facial's, and vein therapy.

One of the first things that impressed me about Dr. Dishakjian's office was the office itself: Cleverly situated right off the main drag, very near the insanity of Rte. 118, I5, and I210, you would think you were a million miles away from all that noise when you witness the sweeping vistas of the various ranches adjacent the two story medical complex which houses Nu Vela.

"The esthetic mindset is essential!" the doctor enthused to me when I arrived. "My clients are not going to be running around a hospital, sitting next to someone getting their foot amputated." So it was that the very well maintained first floor office at the rear of this building came into being two years ago. A cursory look at the soothing ambience of your surroundings and the very calm and almost sterile placement of everything inside of this office definitely lent itself to the end of soothing calmness. You can surely see how the doctor had spent a great deal of time crafting his space and the attention to detail put this reporter immediately at ease.

This doctor appears not to want to fool around: "I will only offer services with results," he said to me. This is a man who is not just passionate about his work but also very proud and very knowledgeable. He showed me endless before and after pictures of many of his patients as he explained all the procedures to me in exhaustive detail.

One of the more prominent things which he practices in his office and which is gaining a great following is minimally invasive facelift known as the "threadlift." This is especially popular for younger women in the 45-60 age range and is accomplished by poking small needle holes at pivotal points to give back elasticity.

"Aging is a combination of things," the doctor enthused to me, "laxity, loss of volume, loss of bone volume; two examples are wrinkles and enlarged pore size or jowls." This is what Dr. Dishakjian strives to correct; within reason. When pressed about his practices with his individual patients, he assures me that "each patient gets consultation. They will know what to expect."

The doctor seemed a bit disheartened by some people's unrealistic expectations or false hope in the esthetic 'miracle.'

"It's no miracle," he said, "when you come in and have consultation with me; we take the information from where you are at that moment. It's no secret that we age;" the riddle of how to best proceed on a case by case basis is what the doctor prides himself on.

"We do numerous procedures; arms, legs, back lifts, tightening thighs, belly, spider veins, laser treatment of unwanted hair," and you can walk in and at the end of your treatment, walk back out.

"There is no down time."

It seems the esthetic practice is in something of a Renaissance and moving into an Enlightened period.

"Foam sclerotherapy, restylane, depigmentation treatment, acne treatment..."

If you ever wanted to learn more then you should make an appointment with Dr. Dishakjian; he is a very approachable man who speaks in plain language and will tell you exactly what types of treatment he has that might be right for you. All consultations with the doctor are complementary so you haven't got anything to lose and oh so much to gain. While the world of plastic surgery may have once been frightening, the doctor at Nu Vela Esthetics can give you the same results and make your experience like a day at the spa.
