Beauty Product Reviews - Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth Deodorant and Jergen's Skin Firming Moisturizer

As women, we are constantly bombarded with new beauty products making exaggerated claims about what they can do to keep us young, smooth, and flawless. How are we to know which products actually work and which do not? We look to each other and to word of mouth to know what has worked for others! I've been testing two new beauty products, Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth Deodorant and Jergen's Skin Firming Moisturizer, and am here to share the products' claims as well as my reviews with you.

Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth Deodorant

The Claim: Moisturizers smooth and condition your underarms, making hair softer, finer, and easier to remove within weeks. Your underarm hair will look and feel less noticeable over time.

My Experience: I've been using this deodorant for about eight weeks. First, I want to note that I use the Nature Fresh scent, which is a light and pleasant scent that doesn't have that overwhelming "DEODORANT!" smell to it - a nice change from most deodorant scents. Now, the more important question - does this product work? My skin has definitely been softer and the hair has become easier to remove. However, I don't think that my underarm hair has become any finer or less noticeable than before.

The Verdict: While it hasn't lived up to all of its claims, it has improved the condition of my skin. It is also a very effective antiperspirant/ deodorant. We all need deodorant, and since this one isn't more expensive than any other, I say give it a try! If nothing else, your skin will be softer and you'll have less razor irritation.

Jergen's Skin Firming Moisturizer

The Claim: This lotion claims to restore elasticity to your skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite over time by toning and tightening skin.

My Experience: This is a really good lotion. It is fairly thick, even though it's in a pump bottle, and has done an amazing job of hydrating my skin. However, I don't think it's had any effect as far as toning or tightening my skin. I work out fairly regularly and don't have too big of "problem areas", so maybe this product works better if your problems are bigger problems. For me, it has only moisturized, just like any other lotion.

The Verdict: It's a wonderful moisturizer, and since it costs the same as other Jergen's products but hydrates better (in my opinion), I will probably continue to buy it. However, I would not recommend this product as an actual "cure-all" for cellulite. The results just weren't there.
