Beauty Products that Need Improvement

Dallas Bolen
We all have our favorite cosmetic and beauty products, but that does not mean that they are perfect. These are just a few of the beauty products that I use regularly that are desperately screaming for an upgrade.

Home Hair Color Kits
I admit that I feel a little discriminated against every time that I purchase hair color. The reason? I have long, thick hair, and I have to purchase two kits to color all of it. I would like to see companies like Clairol introduce with kits that contain enough of the product to color longer hair in one box. I would be willing to pay a little more for it, I am just tired of paying double.

Conditioners
Speaking of hair color, don't you just love the way that little pack or bottle of after-color conditioner makes your hair smell and feel? I do, and I also think that the makers should offer full-size versions of that wonderful conditioning treatment. I would definitely purchase it, (as would most of the women I know), and use it as a once-a-week-treat for my hair between colorings.

Mascara #1
I hate having to throw out my mascara every two months to prevent eye infections caused by the build-up of bacteria in the tube. I know that there is probably no safe way to make the mascara itself anti-bacterial, but anti-bacterial mascara brushes are possible. Just think about how much money we could save by being able to hold on to our tube of mascara for one more month!

Mascara #2
I am the type of person that changes looks on a regular basis. This includes the length and thickness of my eye lashes. I use a variety of mascaras to achieve different looks, from casual to dramatic, based simply on the applicator brush. It would be great to be able to purchase one tube with interchangeable brushes, instead of the 10 tubes that currently occupy space on my dressing table.

Mineral Foundation
I love the look, feel, and finish of mineral makeup, I just hate the waste. Dipping and tapping your brush wastes enough product for another week of applications. It also creates a layer of product on the surface where you apply your makeup. There has got to be a better way! I think a container with two chambers would cut down on the waste and the mess.

Brow Stencils
The makers of eyebrow grooming kits almost got this one right. Stencils are a great way to achieve a polished look for your eyebrows. The only problem is that the stencils tend to warp when someone with a smaller face tries to use them to help in shaping their eyebrows. Some kind of light adhesive, (one that will not pull hair or skin), is in order. This will also make eyebrow grooming easier for those of you with more normal sized faces.

Those are my thoughts on how some common beauty products can be improved. Do you have any ideas?
