Foundation and powder
For those who enjoy the looks of both powder and foundation products you've already found this combination to be a simple and effective way to hide blemishes, smooth skin and soak up excess oil. When layering these two products together choose a color that's slightly darker than your natural skin tone, but not so much that there's a line of color two shades darker at the jawline. When a powder or foundation is too light it actually accentuates wrinkles and blemishes.
Lipstick, lip liner and powder
If you already use powder you can use it along with your lipstick or lip liner. If you normally don't use powder purchasing a simple compact close to your skin shade will be sufficient. When applying powder don't stop once you reach the lips. Add a light coat on your lips and then add lipstick. The addition of powder will help keep your lipstick from bleeding into the tiny creases surrounding your mouth and will also help to keep your lipstick from flaking.
Fragrances and lotions
When perfume and scented lotion are worn together it increases the staying power but what happens when you run out of your favorite lotion long before the perfume? Adding a small spray of perfume to an unscented or lightly scented body lotion will hold you over until you can find a replacement.
Pressed powder and eye shadow
After a couple hours of wear it's very common for eye shadow to crease. The main reason for this is the amount of oil remaining on the eyelids before applying eyeshadow. Removing all oil is difficult because of eye creams and lotions but adding pressed powder over the lids beforehand can reduce oil. If you don't like the idea of using powder then keep an eye shadow brush with you so you can brush over the creases and smooth out the shadow.
Blush and bronzer
With the increase of dangers from sun exposure the use of bronzer has become very popular. Bronzer can be found in nearly every brand of make up and can be used alone or with the use of blush. A light layer of blush over your bronzer will add a nice sun kissed hue to cheeks with out ever stepping one foot in the sun.
