Beauty Review: The Boots Line

J M K
Many Target stores now carry a London brand of beauty and health care products called Boots. The Boots line offers cosmetics, skin care products, hair care products, health care items and other bath and body products. I became a fan of the Boots line when I lived in London a few years ago and I am excited to see Target carry so many of their products. In London, Boots is an independent retailer that offers affordable cosmetics and bath products. The Boots brand fits in well with the Target philosophy. In London and since I have returned to the states I have tried various items from the Boots line.

The Boots Cosmetic Line
In general, London is considered a fashion forward town. Much of the Boots cosmetics line can be considered affordable high fashion. Londoners may also wear more colorful makeup than is popular in the states so be careful with what you choose and remember to apply anything you get with a light hand. The Boots cosmetic line is small and may not offer some of the basics that other lines do. However, their products are made well and worth the price. I strongly recommend Boots eyeliners. Their pencil liners come in great fashion forward shades, they are easy to apply, and do not wear off.

The Boots cosmetic line also carries tweezers for eyebrow grooming. I loved the Boots tweezers so much that, while I was living in London, I bought them as gifts for all of my friends back home the states. Some Targets carry the Boots cosmetic tweezers and if you can find them, get them. The tweezers have a thin angles tip but they are not sharp. They are also lightweight and durable.

The Boots Healthcare Line
I recently tried the Boots "Feel the Difference Detox 5 Day Plan" in Apple and did not like it. The package came with five 1 oz. vials. Everyday for five days I was supposed mix the vial with a liter of water and drink it throughout the day. On the first day I drank the whole liter. The apple taste was strong and sour and it was hard to get down but it was honestly not as bad as I expected. On the second day I made it through a half of a liter and I quit after that. The taste was too strong for me and I did not feel the effects so I did not continue. Boots carries many detox systems, dietary supplements, and beauty drinks but I don't think I will try any more.

The Boots Skincare Line
I currently use and love the Boots botanicals body sculpting cream as my only lotion. The cream moisturizes and does not leave a greasy residue. It is slightly think and should and is ideal for someone with chronically dry skin. The product does not have a strong scent. The Boots cream does claim to firm your skin which, after two months of use, I have not noticed.

I love the Boots body scrubs. Boots scrubs exfoliate and leave your skin feeling smooth. The Boots line offers many great scents but my favorite is Mediterranean Almond, Pistachio & Olive.
