Beauty Reviews for a New You This New Year!

Jes H.
I thought I would share some reviews of my favorite beauty products this year! You can start a whole new beauty routine, or just switch to a couple new products, and start on a brand new you!

Cutex Essential Care Nail Polish Remover Pads:

For about $3.00 at your local grocery or drug store, you can pick up a box of 6 of these thick, individually wrapped pads. These are great for removing darker colored polish, especially on toenails, without the gunk that using toilet paper or paper towels doused in polish remover can leave. One pad will work for both your finger and toenails, and then maybe even a friend's nails! They don't come apart, and they don't go dry in the middle of trying to get those little spots on your toenails where red polish always seems to get stuck! These were one of my favorite projects of the year!

O.P.I. Ridge Filling Nail Laquer:

Even though I religiously take vitamins and biotin, I get nails that tend to crack due to my constant knitting. O.P.I. ridge filler is a miracle, and the ONLY reason I can get polish to last on my nails for me. You can grab this for about $8 a bottle at any store that sells O.P.I. polishes. This goes on white, but dries to make your nails look natural, but matte. It fills all the ridges you may have from peeling or cracked nails so that when you put on your polish, it's more resistant to chipping! My polish lasts 10-12 days instead of the 2-3 days it used to last before I started using this!

E.L.F. Cosmetics:

You can find these cosmetics at eyeslipsface.com. Most people would be scared away by the fact that they are mostly $1.00 per product. I thought I would try some of their products. Their nail polish is great! I have it in nude, and it lasts just as long as my MAC polish does, for a tenth of the price! Their mineral makeup has decent coverage. It's not the greatest I have tried, but for $5.00, it's not a bad buy, and I would buy it again. I also tried their hydro-tint moisturizer and their all over color stick together. They both worked really well and had great coverage. The color stick did smell like oranges though, and I really didn't like smelling it, but the scent went away fairly quickly. They shipped priority mail, and didn't overcharge like some other sites do! I would highly recommend them!

MAC Lipglass:

I am in love with MAC lipglass. If you have a chance, you should try this out! For $15.00 a pop, you get great colors that are long lasting and aren't sticky and gunky like other glosses can be! You can also find

discounted MAC products at a Cosmetics Company Store near you! They are usually in outlet malls, but you can find gorgeous colors for about $10.00 a pop!

Maybelline Intense XXL Volume & Length Washable Microfiber Mascara:

This is by far the best mascara I have used! I have tried MAC, Dior, and others, and Maybelline just has the best! If you want length and definition, this is the mascara for you! The first coat is white, and it preps your lashes. The second coat is the actual mascara, and it does wonders for even the shortest lashes! You can pick this up at any grocery or drug store, and it's about $7.00 a tube. The only problem I have with this is that it makes my lashes so long that I end up getting mascara on the inside of my sunglasses!

Olay Regenerist Thermal Face Polish:

I cannot say enough good things about this! This has evened out my combo skin into clearer and brighter! And nothing feels better at the end of a long day then a warm face washing to get all the gunk of your long day off of your face! This did break me out a little at first, but my dermatologist explained that my skin was clearing itself of all the deep down impurities. And he was right! I could not ask for a softer, brighter skin treatment than this. You can find this at any drug or grocery store for about $10 a tube.

Urban Decay Big Fatty Lip Plumper:

WOW! I am a big fan of lip plumpers, and Urban Decay definitely delivered in this department! It looks gold in the tube, but comes on sheer. Give it a couple minutes and your lips will be gorgeous and full. You won't be Angelina Jolie (unless you opt for lip implants) but the difference is noticeable! You can find this at upper end makeup stores, or even Ulta for about $17.00 a tube!

Lip plumpers...another "beauty" oddity. Thanks for sharing.
