Those beautiful ladies who grace the covers of magazines and television screens do not wake up each morning looking that beautiful. It takes several beauty secrets applied by the pros to get make the ladies looking so photogenic, fortunately, those beauty secrets can be used by us at home.

Fake Full Lashes Without Heavy Mascara

If you have short or sparse eyelashes, sometimes even mascara can't give you the thick eyelashes you desire. And fake eyelashes are not for everyone. Try this beauty secret to fake full eyelashes - Use liquid eyeliner to draw an extra thick line right at the lash line. The thick line will give the same effect as dark lashes because it gives the illusion of thick lashes at the root.

Smoky Eye Beauty Trick

Those sponge applicators that come with powder eye shadow are not good for using to apply shadow, they pick up too much of the product and make the shadow look caked on. But don't toss out those little sponge applicators, they are prefect for creating smoky eyes. After applying eyeliner, use the sponge applicator to smug the eyeliner around at the outer corners of your eyes. The smudge line gives the smoky eye look.

Make a Zit Disappear

A zit creates two unsightly problems on the face - redness and a raised surface. This beauty secret will take away both problems at once and zap that zit. Squeeze a few drops of Visine (eye drops formulated to get the red out of eyes) onto the back of a spoon. Place the spoon into the freezer for a few minutes. Remove spoon from freezer and place it over the zit (back side with Visine on the zit) for a few minutes. The Visine will remove the redness and the cold spoon will reduce the swelling to make the skin's surface smooth and even.

Homemade Cucumber Skin Refresher

Toning mists designed to refresh facial skin are expensive, but extremely useful and effective in resetting makeup and making skin glow. Make your own effective skin refresher mist with water and a cucumber, here's how:

Puree or liquefy one-half of a cucumber in a blender. Strain to remove any solid pieces. Pour two teaspoons of the cucumber juice into a small spray bottle, then finish filling the spray bottle with spring water. Shake well and store in refrigerator. Mist on face anytime your skin needs refreshing and a little touch of radiance. The homemade cucumber skin refresher will last one week in the refrigerator.
