Beauty Tips: Makeup for Blue Eyes

Brooke
Blue eyes are special; they come from purely recessive genes which is uncommon. They shine and from a far their color remains piercing blue. Blue eyes are like fresh water pools and crystal clear rivers, they're never dull. When it comes to makeup for blue eyes though, some could do a much better job. I say you need to take advantage of what you've got, and flaunt those big beautiful pools of blue. From the technique of application, to the shades of makeup used. From the texture of the makeup, to the shine of it too; it all makes a difference.

For starters, foundation/cover up can be fairly useful when your goal is to make your blue eyes pop. Dark circles under the eyes can be very distracting, regardless of the color. That's why applying a soft foundation such as Mineral Wear lightly under the eyes can be very subtle and natural looking. Or, if you'd like to get rid of dark circles all together, try Garnier Nutritioniste Anti-Puff Eye Roller. You literally roll away dark circles. After 1 week women saw under eye puffiness decrease and dark circles disappear. I've tried it myself and it actually worked after my first application; my dark circles had already diminished. It's nothing like cover up either; you don't even have to find the right shade.

When it comes down to makeup for blue eyes, Mascara and eyeliner are the most important. They bring out the color in anyone's eyes. Specifically for blue eyes, the most effective mascara I've come across so far is CoverGirl's Black Sapphire Eyelights Mascara. Supposedly it makes eyes 4 times brighter. Eyelights Mascara contains light reflecting metallics that simply aluminate blue eyes. This is a perfect example of when shades of makeup really do matter. It's no clump brush helps define lashes as well makes Eyelights Mascara a sure favorite of mine. As for the eyeliner, try a dark shade. Either dark metallic grey/silver or what most companies call "very black".

Now the most alluring makeup for blue eyes would have to be eyeshadow. It's all about the shades of the makeup. For example the perfect shade for brown eyes may not be the perfect blue eyes and vise versa. A tan or light blue shade can be very complimentary to blue eyes. So far, the prettiest kind of eyeshadow I've come across so far has come from a tube; in other words, liquid eyeshadow. It gives the smoothest, least cakey look. When it comes to makeup for blue eyes, it's all about the shades of makeup.
