Beauty Tips for Before a Night Out

Yvonne M. Glasgow, Ph.D.
It takes much more to get ready for a night out than fixing your hair and slapping on some make-up, especially if it is, or may be, an important night out. No matter what the occasion, this plan should be followed out, make getting ready just as special as the night out on the town. Put some time and effort into a new look. Here are a few steps and tips to get ready to go out for a fun evening and look beautiful while doing it.

Skin Care

Instead of spending an hour trying to tweeze you eyebrows, foot over the few bucks to get them professionally waxed. Tweezing at home takes time, and patience. You will be struggling to get that perfect shape and too frustrated for fun by the time you are done. Instead, make an appointment at the salon the night before or first thing the morning of your plans (It will take a good few hours for the redness to go down after this procedure). You will have perfectly shaped brows in no time, and without the stress.

If your face is feeling a little grimy then spot clean, don't wash the whole thing and have to start make up over from scratch. Usually our eye makeup stays on pretty well and barely needs a touch-up. It's that pesky powder that wipes off throughout the day and that foundation that gets blotchy. Avoid the eyes and spot clean, then reapply, or touch-up only what is needed.

Make Up

Try something different with your eyes. We are all fans of that smoky, three shadow look, for a night out on the down, but why be like everyone else. Try something different. Instead try a sparkly metallic shadow in a nice smoky or neutral tone, on the entire upper lid, no blending in numerous colors. Add a little of the shiny stuff across the bottom of the eye to make your eyes stand out even more.

Want to avoid losing your lipstick while eating and drinking? Try a lip stain. Simply smudge on your lipstick using your fingers instead of spreading it on from the tube. This way your lips are actually "stained" with the color instead of just coated in it and the color will be less likely to wipe off as easily.

Hair

Whether you plan to wear your hair up or down, make it easy. Instead of messing with a fancy twist for an up-do, just throw your hair into a simple and sexy bun. Want to wear it down? Don't fall flat, add some root boost and blow dry to add some body. This natural look will have you feeling fresh and free of hair ties and bobby pins.
