Beauty Tips and Secrets Using Olive Oil

Tips on How to Use Olive Oil in Your Beauty Regimen

Olive oil has been around for a long time. Not only can it be used for cooking, but it's great for your skin. It contains antioxidants which when applied to the skin help renew cells for a younger-looking appearance. It's also a great moisturizer. Olive oil is not expensive, especially considering what so many of the over-the-counter chemical-laden beauty products cost. Use extra virgin olive oil as it is the purest form of olive oil. Check out these beauty tips using olive oil and save yourself some money. The results can be amazing!

All Over Skin Softener: You can use olive oil as an all over moisturizer to make your skin feel silky smooth. Just pour 1/2 cup of olive oil into your bath water and revel in the feel of luxury. You'll notice after you dry off that your skin feels extra moisturized.

Lip Moisturizer and Conditioner: Use this on your lips to heel chapped lips and for a velvety smooth feel. You only need to dab on a little bit as a small amount of olive oil goes a long way. If you desire a sweet smell, add a tiny drop of your choice of essential oil.

Dry Skin Moisturizer: If the skin on your face is dry, you are going to love this. Olive oil can be applied directly to the face, but it can take some time to soak in. A great tip is to mix 1 teaspoon of olive oil with 2 teaspoons of plain yogurt. No chemicals and no fragrance to irritate your skin. Let it sit for about 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Wait until you feel your face!

Hot Oil Hair Treatment: If your hair is dry then this treatment will help. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and apply to hair, making sure to massage it into your scalp. You can wrap it in a towel for 15 minutes, then rinse. Or if you apply it in the shower, just leave on for a few minutes then rinse. You need to be careful that you rinse it out all the way. You'll notice how much shinier your hair is after this treatment.
