Makeup Remover
It's important to remove eye makeup before bed for several reasons. Going to bed with eye makeup on can get into your eyes and cause infections, puffiness and redness; which will cause your eyes to look overly tired and irritated the next day. Using an eye makeup remover is the best bet on getting your make up off easily and safely. This type of makeup remover is designed for the delicate skin around the eyes and can be used with a cotton ball, q-tip or soft cloth.
Eye Cream
There are many types of eye creams on the market to help moisturize and reduce the appearance of lines. When applying eye cream place a small amount on your ring finger because it does not apply the same amount of pressure as the other fingers. Use a small amount on the brow bone and along the orbital bone of the eye. Eye cream will spread due to the natural oils in the skin and applying it any closer to your eye will cause you to feel like there's product in your eye.
Eyelash Curler
Using an eyelash curler can open the look of your eyes up but can also do damage to the lashes if not used or cleaned properly. Use the curler with light pressure so the eye lashes are curled and not crimped. Squeezing too tight can pull the lashes from the follicles which takes a long time to grow back. Make sure your eyelash curler is cleaned regularly to keep irritation or infection to a minimum. If there is any left over mascara on the curler it acts as an adhesive and will cause your lashes to stick to the curler. If this happens the possibility of ripping out your lashes highly multiplies.
Tweezing
Keeping your eye-brows maintained is far different from being a "pluck-o-holic." Over plucking your eyebrows can leave bald patches or hair that grows in irregularly and will change the entire look of your face. Add the use of a protein-spiked brow gel to help hair growth and for eye-brows that are nearly bare use a brow filler to create fuller eye-brows.
