BEAVERCREEK - The Greater Dayton Professionals Chapter of BNI has announced two new members. Angela Cox, owner of Body Essence, and Heather Coyle, of Wright Patt Credit Union were recently inducted as the newest members of the Beavercreek-based business group.

The international professional networking group BNI, or Business Network International, was started by professional networking guru Dr. Ivan Misner in 1985. With over 5,000 chapters world-wide, the goal of BNI is to help members network with one-another on a level that is not possible in chamber organizations or service clubs.

In the BNI strategy, each member tries to learn as much as possible about the others to the extent that they can give an informed recommendation to potential clients. The Greater Dayton Professionals chapter has seen rapid growth in recent months but remains diligent in its efforts to bring in the most professional, productive members and not just warm bodies.

Freelance writer Gery L. Deer of GLD Enterprises Media Group is the chapter vice president and chairperson of the membership committee. "The BNI process is well defined and we have a great membership team," Deer said. "Potential members apply for a position within a specific professional category and in the last couple of months we were lucky enough to get Angela and Heather, two highly qualified professionals who will be great assets to our chapter."

New inductee Angela Cox has been a licensed massage therapist for 11 years and was a member of the organization in North Carolina. Now located at The Green, Cox chose BNI because of her past experience with the organization. "I knew when I moved to the Dayton area the first thing I had to do was find a BNI chapter," Cox said. "

Heather Coyle of Wright Patt Credit Union is new to the BNI culture but is optimistic about her choice to sign on. "I expect to be able to help the members of BNI by delivering qualified referrals," Coyle said. "The chapter is full of professional, energetic people."

Through the BNI structure, a network of professional connections can grow well beyond the core group and extend the reach of a small business to unrealized potential customers. The organization is intended for entrepreneurs and sales professionals in all types of businesses from real estate and insurance agents to florists and mortgage brokers.

The Greater Dayton Professionals Chapter of BNI meets weekly from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at City Barbeque, 2330 B N. Fairfield Rd. in Beavercreek. For more information go online to www.greaterdaytonpros.com or contact chapter president Sharon Zeljak of Automated Advantage by calling (937) 427-3277.
