Because of God's incomparable love, He sent his beloved son to save a lost world. I can honestly say I don't think I could offer my son to save another, but God, in His perfect wisdom, did, and He did so for us...
God came to the world as flesh and was born in the most humble of circumstances to a virgin who, by most accounts, was still a teenager.
If Mary could withstand an 'unplanned' pregnancy with such courage and grace, why can't other women? In Mary's day, her 'offense' was punishable by death but she chose to love, nurture and protect the miracle within.
Then there's Joseph; he was willing to have faith in his betrothed even though she was carrying a child that was not his own and he loved that child, stood by Mary, and weathered the harsh judgments from others.
What examples they are to the rest of us...
How can I ever express to God the lessons He has taught us through that miraculous conception, pregnancy, and birth?
Whenever I see a nativity, it fills me with great warmth. Many people seek accolades and attention for their own person, but Jesus, the light of the world, Creator of all, sought to serve and to bring hope, but most of all, He came to save our fallen world.
How could anyone turn their backs on a love so pure?
My love for Jesus is a fire in my heart and soul that cannot be quenched. No one had to teach me about Him because I always knew Him and I'm forever grateful to Him for every aspect of my life and every emotion I've ever felt. I'm thankful for the abandonment; the chosen family; the sorrow; the pain; the great joy; the overwhelming loss; the loneliness; the miraculous gift of carrying life inside me; and for the love that passes to me and from me.
I don't need many people but I need Jesus and He makes me whole...

Post a CommentYou are so right, Donna!
Jeff - Jesus IS God and He offered HIMSELF as a sacrifice for you because He loves you that much...AMAZING if you really think about it.
hmm..interesting read...but I would think that an "all powerful God" might come up with a better solution than to send his son to his demise? Not exactly "perfect wisdom." But at least christmas is over for a few months..Happy New Year to all!
