The first step you can take to become a good typist is to become familiar with the keyboard. Once you memorize it, you will have an easy time finding any key that you must type very quickly. Once you memorize where everything is, you will have to focus on using the right fingers to type different keys. For example, you need to use the fifth finger on your left hand to type a Q and a Z and you must use the fifth finger on your right hand to type a P.
Mastering your sense of timing is another key component of speed typing. If you are a little too antsy or impatient, you are likely to hit the wrong key when you start typing a word. For example, if you must type "being", you might often hit the "E" key with your left hand before you can hit the "B" key with your right hand. You should raise your left hand high before typing b-e-i-n-g.
To succeed at school, you must use good study techniques. These include using repetition and studying your material through different angles. It is also important to actively participate in the classroom. The things that you must do here include taking good notes and asking questions about whatever you do not understand in the classroom lectures as well as your textbooks.
You have gotten a head start on succeeding at keyboard typing and school. To go even further, it is up to you to practice typing and get more instruction on how to ace typing and school.
