Becoming an Award-Show Seat Filler for MTV or BET Networks

If you have ever seen an awards show, then you know that the house always appears packed, regardless of the subject of the awards. This is sometimes a camera trick, because they do not want the audience to feel as if nobody is interested in the awards. So they will make it appear as if it is a full house if they are unable to fill up the venue. However, they will make an attempt to fill out the venue to the best of their ability, which means that if you are interested in attending these shows you can do so. I have been able to attend an awards show shown on MTV and the BET awards show. My boyfriend has attended the country music awards. If you know some simple techniques you can accomplish this also:

Often before an awards show in your area you will find that your local radio station is giving out several seats in contests, If you listen to the station then you should be able to compete in the contest and with any luck you will win. I once won a set of tickets for being the fourth caller to the station and I enjoyed the show.

If you know anyone who has a press pass then you can ask for him or her to lend it to you. If they do this then you can go to the venue and wait in line and you will be admitted.

If you do not have a friend with a press pass then you can search for one on Ebay and purchase it, you can then use that pass to get in line at the venue and see the show.

If you know of anyone who will be attending the show you should go to their website and join the forum to see if anyone has extra tickets. I went to IamonMTV.com and asked for tickets for a show and I was given some by a cast member of The Real World show.

If you know ahead of time where the show is going to be then you should contact the company, which is putting the show on, and ask that they provide you with tickets to attend. They will leave the tickets at the window on the show date so that you can attend.

If this does not work then you should head down to the venue before the show starts and ask them for a ticket. However, you should be dressed up because they will give tickets to people based on how they look. If they have extras they will give you some (which they usually do).
