Claire usually wears her hair down, but you may want to put your child's hair in a ponytail; a very simple look and often a generalized portrait of a cheerleader. To accomplish this 'schoolgirl' look, you can either pull the child's hair back into a ponytail, or you may want to go out and purchase a ponytail hair piece, and/or wig. There are various ways you can accomplish the ponytail look to make the costume of Heroes' Claire Bennet complete.
Now, although Claire's character doesn't necessarily wear a lot of makeup, in order to keep her 'schoolgirl' appearance, but you can add a bit of color to your child's face, maybe a bit of red on the cheeks, or colored lip gloss to enhance the 'schoolgirl' look on your trick-or-treater.
There is a good possibility that you can find these items needed for the costume in a discount store. I know for a fact that Salvation Army has items galore for 'under' discount prices. The items needed will be: a pleated skirt, preferably red in color, with white lining and trim; a cheerleader jersey, preferably red and white in color, team letter is optional; white bobbie socks, and white sneakers. All these items may possibly be found in one store. And as far as the hair is concerned, rather you put your trick-or-treater's hair in a ponytail or purchase a hair piece/wig, the ponytail look can be accented with a ribbon, preferably red or white in color. If you choose to use the identical look of Claire, there are wigs for that look as well.
Now, the character Claire Bennet in Heroes has special powers that help her defy death. There are no special weapons or attachments used for her character, but to achieve a look of a person who defies death, is a mystery to me. What makes this costume special is keeping the 'schoolgirl' look; don't overkill with too much facial makeup, just a dab will do around the cheek area; the lip gloss is a guarantee that you will not apply lipstick, which would be considered too much makeup. Just one coat should accomplish the 'schoolgirl' look. Now, the only thing left to complete the costume of Claire Bennet of Heroes, is to go out and save the world of candy and goodies!
