Beer and Alcohol Enemas: A Drinker's Deathwish

Laurie Meekis
In the pursuit of the ultimate intoxication, someone came up with the idea of putting beer or other intoxicants, in enema form to get drunk. What exactly is a beer, or alcohol enema, and what are the dangers of doing one?

People do strange things in an effort to get drunk or out do other wild and bizarre drinking activities. Beer and alcohol enemas go beyond strange to the level of insanely stupid and dangerous at times. Somehow picturing this activity at a large social gathering or party isn't a pleasant visualization. Social drinking hits new lows, in more than one way, when it comes to beer and alcohol enemas.

To perform a beer or alcohol enema, the person partaking of this rectal imbibing has to get the booze into the anus. In order to do this they use a variety of methods ranging from inserting the beer or booze bottle directly where the sun doesn't shine. Then they bend over to pour it in, or they make use of tubes and funnels or a drip bag and tubes, any method they can to get it in, sometimes even with the help of another person.

Some have even gone one step further and warmed it up first so it isn't such a shock to the system and feels better. It does make you wonder why they would even bother trying to make it a more comfortable experience if the ultimate goal is inebriation to the nth where they can't feel a thing, possibly permanently. It's a kick for some.

Why would anyone want to have a beer enema? They do it to get drunk of course, extremely drunk since beer or alcohol enemas can make you drunker than a skunk, to coin a phrase.

In 2004, a woman in Texas was accused of giving her husband a sherry enema that caused his death. The charges against her were dropped. The man died from shooting sherry up his behind. According to his wife's testimony, he was in the habit of getting drunk this way since a medical condition did not allow him to drink booze the normal way. When he died, his blood alcohol level was .47. In Texas, .08 percent is legally drunk. The term extreme alcoholic does come to mind when thinking about this case. Other terms and comments come to mind too.

Why is a beer or alcohol enema so dangerous? The intestines absorb alcohol directly without it running through the normal filtering system of the body when it is poured into the exit door and the intestines absorb alcohol much more quickly. That filtering system is there for many reasons. How you tolerate drinking the regular way is very different from how your body deals with a beer or alcohol enema.

When a person drinks booze the normal way, it takes longer to be absorbed by the body. It is built in protection. Putting beer or any alcohol in an enema makes the booze almost instantly get absorbed and at a much higher level.

Someone this drunk runs a huge danger of overloading the system and poisoning themselves. Alcohol poisoning is no laughing matter. It occurs in cases of heavy drinkers and even new drinkers or partiers who let their drinking get out of hand.

This rather peculiar method of drinking, if you can call it drinking, is as dangerous as taking a drug, which alcohol is, and injecting it directly into the body, bypassing any form of safety gauges the body provides.

Is there such a thing as a safe beer or alcohol enema? People have done them and lived. There are people who do it repeatedly. There are methods to make alcohol enemas safer by diluting the alcohol with water, using lower alcohol content drinks and expelling versus holding it in. But people have lived who have gotten drunk and gone driving. Why chance it?

Obviously the higher the percentage of booze in the chosen method of inebriation, the more likely that damage or death can occur. It isn't much different than jumping out of a plane without a parachute and hoping you won't hit the ground too hard when you fall. Using a beer or alcohol enema is taking away the failsafe to enjoy the thrill, in this case getting drunk. Is it worth it? If you are this desperate to get drunk, then you have a problem. Get help. Fun is fun, but getting drunk via a beer or alcohol enema pushes the bar right over a cliff. Freedom of choice you say or you want to try something new? It might be a good idea to pass on the beer or alcohol enema experience.
