Beer and Buoyancy

Beer and Buoyancy

A rising tide, beer is a flow that floats many boats. Employers, contributors to the local tax base, and economic generators, breweries have always been and still are a boon to the community. Doing swimmingly well in the realm of spirits sales, craft beer is about the only elixir that is fairing well in that category.

Akin to any activity under the influence we must care for ourselves and others; pairing beer and buoyancy, drifting on the waters, is a little dicey. Boating or swimming while inebriated is simply asking for trouble. Drunken boating can as easily end in tragedy as drunken driving.

However, beer can be the thing that makes a party sing. I think most would admit that the Beer Barrel Polka isn't nearly as much of a hoot without the beer; without suds, polkas are duds. Add a couple of brews, though, and you have a flotilla of fun.

The biggest beer bash in the world, Oktoberfest is a bountiful bacchanalia. Oktoberfest translates to more than just a good time, as noted in the following blog post. http://drinkwiththewench.com/2008/10/04/the-story-of-oktoberfest-bier/

So, pair beer with a rollicking good time. Whether at the beach, tubing down the river, or twisting to the tuba and accordion's three-four beat, let a brew or two buoy you and your spirit.
