Beer Drinkers Take Notice!

Beer Has Many Uses

All of you beer drinkers take notice! Did you know that beer has many uses besides the obvious? Of course, I know that beer drinking is at the top of the list, but there are other things that beer may be used for as well! I love my beer. In my opinion, there is nothing better than kicking back and relaxing after a hard day, feet propped up and an icy cold beer in my hand. While beer drinking may be the most popular use, check out these other uses for beer.

Beer adds shine and softness to hair.

After shampooing and rinsing, simply pop the top on a room temperature beer and pour through your hair. Leave the beer in your hair for a few minutes and rinse.

Beer is a good plant fertilizer.

I have saved many of my plants from a certain death with a mixture of ½ beer and ½ water. The plants absorb the nutrients from the beer and perk right up.

Beer tenderizes meat and adds flavor.

Place any type of meat into a zip lock bag with ½ a can of beer. Close bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. I prefer to leave the meat marinating in the refrigerator over night, as this produces the best results.

Boil meats and vegetables in beer for added flavor.

For succulent shrimp add 1 can of beer to your water before boiling. The way the beer compliments the taste of the shrimp may surprise you. I am a BIG bacon lover, so I also like to add a couple of strips to the shrimp and beer/water as well. Very tasty!

Beer makes a wonderful batter for onion rings, chicken and shrimp.

Nothing tastes better than food dipped in beer batter and fried to a golden brown crispy goodness. You can coat anything in this beer batter recipe and make it taste great. In a mixing bowl pour 1, 12 oz. can of beer. Add 1 & ½ cups of flour, 1 tsp. of Cajun seasoning, 1 tsp. of ground red pepper and ½ tsp. of salt. Stir until well blended. Dredge the desired food in flour and shake off excess, then dip in beer batter and fry on high heat until golden brown.

Beer is a gentle cleanser for wood furniture.

Pour beer onto a soft cloth and rub onto wood furniture. Use another clean, dry cloth to remove the moisture and buff to a rich glossy shine.

Beer removes coffee and tea stains.

This use for beer I have not tried myself. I read about it in the Readers Digest. You are suppose to pour beer, right on top of the stain and rub the beer lightly into the material. The stain is suppose to disappear, although you make have to repeat the process a couple of times to completely remove all traces of the stain.

Beer adds entertainment to a dull evening.

This is my all time favorite use of beer. Take a six pack of beer, a balloon or a feather on a string and a kitten or a cat and you have created for yourself the most enjoyable evening you could ask for!

I had no idea, I detest the taste of beer but then again maybe a few of these might be worth trying. (Furniture polish, sounds about right.)
