Beer Pong is a Multi-Million Dollar Industry
Remember Beer Pong from College? Companies Are Now Making Millions Off of Beer Pong
If this doesn't sound like a multi-million dollar industry to you then you may be surprised to know that it is in fact a multi-million dollar industry. Did you ever think about the mess of all that spilled beer? One company sells thousands of rubber place mats specifically to place the beer pong cups on to keep them from spilling over and to catch the splash from the beer pong ball.
What if you have mastered the sport and want to take your game on the road? How about a folding travel size beer pong table. This industry in itself earns some companies over a million dollars a year. The tables range from around $50 to $200 and can be customized with your favorite sports team, a football field or even decked out with your favorite Nintendo characters. The beer pong tables are made from wood, plastic, or I even saw one made from aluminum that folds up like a briefcase.
Heck, there is even a National Beer Pong League. If you don't believe me just check out the website www.nbpl.net they are pretty serious. I know that when I was in college I had no idea of the opportunities that beer pong had to offer. Maybe its not to late for a career change. I don't think that Mom and Dad would have seen the possibilities either.
With all of the money out there in the world I guess that I should not be so surprised that the beer pong industry is so large. These afore mentioned items would be enough to make the industry a multi-million dollar market, but you can't forget the many websites now selling beer pong t-shirts and posters.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the second annual Summer Beer Pong Cup was played in Negril, Jamaica in June 2008. The winning team took home a whopping $10,000. So it seems to me that the old college party game of beer pong is here to stay. Good luck with your next game!
