Pour of Declaration Ale
Declaration Ale pours a clear copper color. It is quite translucent. I poured it down the side of a tumbler, and the result had a minimal, white head.
Aroma of Declaration Ale
Declaration Ale's aroma was mild, with hints of apple and caramel.
Taste of Declaration Ale
Like the aroma, there is some fruitiness; Declaration Ale is neither overly sweet nor bitter, but there is a pleasant sweetness to it. There are also some floral hints. I generally don't like sweet beers except for lambics, and Declaration Ale is not really sweet, but I would have preferred a bit more tartness or bitterness.
Mouthfeel of Declaration Ale
Declaration Ale has a pleasant but not overwhelming mouthfeel. It's a pleasant sensation, but not a powerful one.
Declaration Ale is 5.4% alcohol by volume and rates 28 international bittering units
The brewer of Declaration Ale is American Honor Beer Co., of Wilkes Barre, PA.
Summary
I like Declaration Ale. It's not something I'd go out of my way to buy, but it's certainly a pleasant drink.
