Beerfest is One Funny Film

Daniel Rein
Beerfest is one of the best comedic films I have seen in a while and I highly encourage everyone to see the film if they like funny films with a good plot. Beerfest centers around the plot of a group of men drinking beer. The storyline follows a group of men as they go to Europe to find their families lost secret beer recipe that had been in the family for years and to regain family honor.

The film is great and I guarantee that you will be laughing for the entire film. In Europe, the men represent the American beer team and are thoroughly destroyed in the beer competition which features a variety of events including beer coin tosses, beer pong, drinking beer out of a glass shoe and a beer chugging contest. Many of the beer events you will discover to have already been familiar with the rules while playing with your friends.

Beerfest comes from the makers of Super Troopers and Baseketball and lives up to expectations as a hit. Anyway, getting back to the storyline, once the group of men lose the beer tournament, they vow to avenge their families' honor and train for several months so that they can beat Europe's best beer teams. They keep drinking and drinking beer and in one such scene a man hilariously dies when he gets stuck in a giant container of beer and tries to drink himself out of the container to prevent from drowning. Towards the end of the film, the American beer team goes back to Europe and in a standoff with the German beer team, they are in a dead heat tie until the last event which is the glass beer shoe. At last, the American beer team reclaims the secret beer recipe and opens up their own store selling that beer.

Beerfest did about average in ticket sales at the box office but I thought more people definitely should have seen the film. If you are a fan of Super Troopers or Baseketball, I strongly encourage you to see this film. The film will have you laughing the entire time and it is definitely a film for a guys night out to see with the rest of your friends.
