Step two is to recognize the language by writing out in English what the words say. Third step is to see the words in English and answer out loud or write what the correct way is in the language of your choice. The software isn't voice activated. Be careful because some languages require accents on certain letters and will result in a wrong answer if the answer isn't given with accents. Some lists are for advanced learning as in steps 1, 2 or both aren't allowed to test your knowledge.

The website offers a word a day allowing users to bookmark the page or have a daily new word delivered to their inbox. You can choose via specific items such as directions, travel, clothes, eating out and many more to start learning instantly. If you or someone you know is fluent in a language, they can add their own lessons for others to download and enjoy. After each lesson is downloaded to your computer, you simply click on open and it will download the necessary components for it to work with the BYKI software. You may for safety reasons want to run a virus scanner through both BYKI software and each downloaded list.
