The Turkey's in the oven
Before the day's begun.
We've watched a bit of Macy's
Before the Turkey's done.
We give thanks to our Father
Before the feast at one,
We try to wake up from our naps
Before the Lions are undone.
We have some pie and say goodbye
Before it gets too late.
And then congratulate ourselves,
"Thanksgiving was well done".
Before the day's begun.
We've watched a bit of Macy's
Before the Turkey's done.
We give thanks to our Father
Before the feast at one,
We try to wake up from our naps
Before the Lions are undone.
We have some pie and say goodbye
Before it gets too late.
And then congratulate ourselves,
"Thanksgiving was well done".
I'd like to add just one thing more
Between all the "befores".
Before the day is over,
Let's each find some time alone
To whisper to our Father;
"Dear Lord above, my heart felt love
Would rise up to your heaven
And as for me, and for my life
I'd like to say, well done".
