If you want to play the guitar you should start out with beginner guitar songs. I know this sounds like everyone should know this but you would be surprised how many people want to start out playing songs that are too hard for them. Nothing will get you more discouraged than not being able to play the song you have spent hours trying to learn.
Learning Beginner Guitar Songs
If you want to have any success in playing beginner guitar songs then you need to understand at least the basics pieces to a song. The first thing you need to know is guitar music is made up of guitar chords. You should at least learn to play the chords C, G and D before you get started, as there are many simple songs you can play with these three simple chords.
Try to Play A Song
When you are first getting started trying to play, those three chords may seem like an impossible task. But if you put in the practice time you will eventually get them to where they sound good. Keep at it because they really are that important.
Once you can play them pretty well put them to work in a beginner guitar song. It may take some time to get the song to where you can change the chords smoothly but keep at it because it will come if you keep working at it.
Practice Your Song
It goes without saying you have to practice playing the guitar if you want to be any good at it. Add some strumming patterns to your chord work and keep practicing those chords.
I know playing beginner guitar songs will take some hard work but it will be worth it in the long run. When you are sitting at a party strumming your guitar and amazing your friends you will be so glad that you put in the time and practice to be able to play that song.
