Let's take a look at how people are making money on Ebay. Often times the question is not "how", buy "what" are people selling. There are only so many items you can find around your house to sell, so there has to be other sources of where an Ebay seller can find marketable items to turn into a profitable home-based business. Let's discuss some different options:
Wholesale Lots - There are nearly 200 wholesale lot categories on Ebay right now. The basic concept is simple. Buy in bulk, then sell the items individually at a slightly higher price than it cost to buy it in bulk. It's the whole "it all adds up" concept of thinking and selling. For example: Lets say you buy 1000 of those little yellow, plastic bracelets for 25 cents a piece, for a total cost of $250. Then, you list them individually on Ebay for 50 cents a piece. By the time you sell all of them, you've doubled your initial investment to $500! This is a very simple and basic example, but you get the idea, and this concept can be applied to literally hundreds of wholesale lot items.
Drop Shipping - For some people, this is a new concept. Drop shipping is basically a service that many successful Ebay users utilize for their stocking and shipping needs. Drop shipping companies stock all the items and ship them to your customer so you don't have to! All you have to do is sign up with one of the many drop shippers, choose from thousands of items you can get for cost (or generously discounted), list the items that you choose to sell on Ebay, and make the sale! You choose the price of the item and the cost of shipping, and the drop shipping company you're working with does the rest. It's a very streamlined process of selling if you don't have the money or space to buy and stock items that you're selling. There is usually a fee involved to be a member of a drop shipper's site, but most are very reasonable, especially once you start making sales! There are thousands, if not millions of ebay users that now have a full time, home business thanks to drop shipping.
Shipping Costs - Many users on Ebay make alot of money by "inflating" the shipping costs associated with their items. A dollar here and another dollar there really adds up if you are selling multiple items or have a high volume. That is why certain items on ebay seem like a very good deal, pricewise. But, if you look at the shipping price of the item and it seems alot higher than it should be, that is where the seller is trying to make his/her money. It's in the shipping cost! It's a nifty little trick that many Ebay users don't notice, and one you can cash in on!
Legwork - What I mean by "legwork" is actually getting out and finding items to sell on Ebay. Discount stores, dollar shops, surplus stores and even garage sales are some of the best places to find items to buy cheap, and sell for a profit using Ebay. Alot of times, this isn't the most popular way to sell on Ebay because of the effort and investment you have to put in, but it is rewarding when done right.
As stated before, numerous people are now using Ebay as a great career alternative, whether it be full-time, or just something for some extra income. Ebay is truely a "global marketplace", and should be taken advantage of! I encourage you to use the information I've provided to help you get on your way in the Ebay community!
Hey, there's no easy way to financial freedom, other than hitting the lottery! But, if you're a determined person that is willing to put in a little time and effort, a very lucrative home business is an attainable goal!
