The Order of Selection
College players are selected for the NFL draft based on their performance background and expertise. They become first, second, third, fourth (and so on) draft picks.
Where the NFL Teams Fit Into the Equation
The NFL teams that have the worst records from the past season choose first. Okay, that was a little harsh. Let's try another word - percentage. For instance, let's take the Seahawks. If they had a particularly bad season and their percentage was low, they might be able to choose from a first-round draft pick, whereas a team like the 49ers might have a higher percentage rate and would choose later on down the line.
What About the Super Bowl Teams?
The Super Bowl winning team chooses from the NFL draft last. The losing Super Bowl team picks second to last.
What if There Is a Tie?
Although unlikely, it can happen! If there is a tie that needs to be broken in the draft, the previous season's picks are referenced. If more information is needed, then divisional records are reviewed.
