Plantasia: Tips and Hints

Marsha J
Plantasia begins with Holly, a woman who is trying to become a fairy. To finally receive her powers, Holly had a list that she needed to complete. The list is almost finished but she has to grant the wish of Jack, the man who lives at the mansion. Jack is an angry man and he doesn't believe Holly. Jack sarcastically tells her that his wish is for Holly to fix the gardens. Holly is shocked at the condition of the gardens and does not want to work on them but she is obligated to do so because that was Jacks sarcastic wish.

Beginners Guide to Plantasia - Plants

When Plantasia first begins you will have the cheapest flowers and plants to grow. The different colors of plants are blue, purple, pink, red and yellow. Regardless of the type of plant, you can put all the same colors together to get bonus Mani. The plants in Plantasia will die if they are eaten by bugs or if you do not water them. When the plants and flowers need to be watered they will become grew. Simply click on them to give the plants water. To stop bugs from attacking the plants you will need to spray them with bug spray. The first few bugs die after one spray but as you progress in the game, new bugs will need two to three sprays before you will get rid of them.

Beginners Guide to Plantasia - Mani

In the game of Plantasia you will receive Mani for doing different things. Mani is the money you will receive to buy items such as more watering cans, bug spray and flowers. You will get Mani when you kill a bug, pick flowers, fruits and vegetables, rake weeds and break boulders.

Beginners Guide to Plantasia - Upgrades

Almost everything in the Plantasia can be upgraded when you have enough Mani to buy things. However, all items may not be available for every round. The upgradable items are:

Flowers
Plants
Vegetables
Hammer
Rake
Watering Can
Bug Spray
Shovel
Barrel

Besides the regular items that you can buy, there are also special Plantasia products that become available as the game gets tougher to play. Storm clouds will show up and you will begin to hear thunder. Once this happens you should be aware that you are about to be over run with bugs, weeds or a drought that will require you to water almost all of your plants at the same time. To fight these sudden problems there are rain clouds, large bags of weed killers and professional bug spray that will spray all bugs at the same time. These things are necessary at certain points in the game but they are not needed in many instances if you simply upgrade your regular items.

Beginners Guide to Plantasia - Game Strategy

To get lots of Mani, group all of the same colored plants together and remember to use the spots that have a colored circle. These circles give you extra Mani if you put the same colored plant in that hole. When you first start a round, buy cheaper plants to get more mani and later on buy the more expensive plants such as the roses and cacti because they will give you a lot of mani at one time. Be aware that the bonus for grouping same colored plants together wears down after a while and you will not be receiving the top bonus that you can. That is why you need to buy the more expensive plants and flowers.

Sometimes when you start a game, plants of different colors will be awaiting you and if you do not like the places the flowers are, you can buy a barrel and move the plants to a different part of the garden. This helps you group plants together for more Mani.

Another good strategy is to try and save Mani when ever you can. The object of the game is to get enough Mani to fix the different stone statues in the Plantasia gardens. Once you have enough mani to buy them you will hear a sound. On the bottom right of the screen, you can press the square that holds a small picture of the statue. As you get farther in the game you will have to buy more than one of these statues to move on.

To save mani consider upgrading your watering can and bug spray instead of buying the special more expensive items that are to the right of the shopping screen. While these items help you when the clouds come, they can only be used once while your regular upgraded items can be used though out that same game level.

When you get to the last garden in the game, the Moon gardens take a look at the completed stone statues. If you have ever played Diner Dash, you will recognize that the regular statues and the bonus statues are images of Flo.
