Finding Food
The Virtual Villagers 2 has the same game play as the first game but there are a few different things this time around. The villagers still have to find food but you no longer have to worry about the well and water. Food for your villagers can be found in the coconut trees, fish from the ocean and a patch of land that you can grow crops on.
Children
Unlike the first Virtual Villager game, you begin with only two adults and a few children. One of the kids is old enough to start working but the rest are too young and you will have to wait until they turn 14 or 15 before you can put them to work. Children can harvest mushrooms to eat and they are the only ones who can pick up special items such as shells for your collection.
Puzzles
Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children has a whole new set of puzzles that you have to solve if you want to win the game. There is no golden child this time around but some of the puzzles include building a fire, finding another source of food besides the ocean, learning how to make stew using difference recipes and creating a building just to name a few. One of the hardest new puzzles in the game is making one of your villagers a master in three different skills. This is hard to do because villagers eventually age and die or they can die suddenly if you run out of food, or if they become sick for too long.
In this new Virtual Villagers game another problem I noticed is that the school is no longer an option in the game to teach the children a skill before they become adults. This is a problem when your villagers begin to breed on their own and you have a lot of children. It becomes very difficult to teach each new working child to go learn a new skill. Some villagers will not do certain skills and this means that you will have to move around the island trying to figure out what skill this villager will accept to learn.
The school is replaced with a hospital that I find unnecessary. If a villager becomes sick, it is simple to have another villager heal them, so having the hospital replace the school made the game harder in this aspect.
Overall Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children is a fun game and will bring days or weeks of enjoy because it is played in real time.

you can only use master scientists to get the algae-eating fish and the more you have the better because you need about 20 fish. you drop them in the pond, they go to the ocean and you put them again in the pond and continue ike that. :D
The same happens to me, I drop the totems in the center of the mosaic and nothing happens. I had already solved all the others puzzles, and I have very much totems, like 7 or 8, and I dropped all of them together in the center and nothing, I dropped one by one in the center and nothing, I put and elder villager "admiring the mosaic" with his correspondent totem in the center and nothing... I dont know what else to do, please help! ;)
