Description: This lesson plan will demonstrate beginning addition problems for kindergarten students.

Students will learn:

* To add problems by maniuplating objects

Materials Needed:
* You will need visual math worksheets that you can create

* You can also use objects such as coins (as well as other objects) to show students the math problems

* Students will need pencils

Procedure: First, you will show the students how to add by giving them examples.

Take four coin. Put two coins in one group and two more coins in another group. Show the students that 2 coins + 2 coins = 4 coins. After that, give them multiple examples to try as a class.
Then you can copy the worksheet so that each student can have one. After they have completed their worksheets, you can collect them and grade them.

Variation: You can use the same problems by using different objects.

Grade You can grade the students on the number correct out of total possible.
