Behavior and Attitude Problems in the Workplace?

Misty Raines
Being in the workplace can sometimes cause people great stress. However, we must remember that not all stress is harmful or bad. For example, being nervous about a specific upcoming event or deadline is alright. But for a person to always feel that they can't finish their work, or that their work is not good enough is considered bad stress. Furthermore, certain behaviors are to be expected, and often required by a company. It is important to stay open minded and well mannered at all times. Being a good listener is also an important key behavior in the workplace. Many people feel that it is also nice to send letters to your co-workers because it makes them feel important (i.e holiday cards, news events, etc.). In addition, people in the workplace often use each others names repeatedly in their conversations. Enthusiasm is also welcomed and expected in the workplace.

Having the correct attitude is also expected from everyone in the workplace. Attitudes are expressed by your actions, your actions better known as your behavior. So basically, if you show the correct behavior in the workplace, you are also showing the proper attitude. It is also said that workplace attitudes are simply the way a person is thinking. For example, if the people in your workplace contain positive attitudes and behaviors, than everyone would be in a better work environment. Finally, a significant change in a person's way of thinking is the only way to make a significant change in their life, as well as the workplace.

Many of us feel that people in the workplace should be able to talk openly and freely about each other's ideas. Nobody in the workplace should feel as if they are less important than anyone else in the company. Everyone in the workplace is equal, if it was not for everyone's determination and effort then there wouldn't be a running company for anyone to work for. In addition, discussing and sharing differences among your co-workers can reduce the amount of miscommunications in the workplace causing an increase in the company's productivity levels. Furthermore, talking with your co-workers will make everyone at the company feel more appreciated and valued. Today most employees face rapid organization changes, life imbalances, new technologies, and less civil social interactions which are high causes of stress in the workplace. All you have to do is remember this article, and I believe it'll help you get past the stress in your work environment.
