Behind Closed Doors

The Dark Secrets ...What Do They Really Hold?

Mag Inzire
No one knows what lurks behind closed doors

for everyone has a past that must be kept hidden

With unknown reasons and unknown causes

there is no rationale and no explanation

They must be kept locked away to protect

and maybe to even forget

Why must these chains hold these secrets so tight?

sometimes it just does not seem right

Many know the truth, many know the deceit

but only few will ever succeed to learn

what is really held beneath, whatever the

reason it shall not be disclosed

Protect your family, protect your children

and protect your friends, but most of all

these bolts of chains are to protect your soul

and what is held within, so I am told

These darkest secrets shall never unfold for

that will be the ruins if all were to know

In the closet they will stay forever for it is

best for all never to know

Behind the wall, behind the lock lays the truth but

for now these dark secrets will only go to death

and all will wonder why?

I question is it best to leave a key

behind for someone to find?

This is thought provoking. Many people have a past that they just do not want to share.

often poetry is such as key left behind, but your poem remains mysterious, intriguing and yet ...a closed door. makes the reader long for a peep hole.
