Behind an Open Door

Lisa R. Strong
Sometimes I see;
The puzzled look in your eyes;
A heart that you thought you knew;
Is waiting on the other side;

You think that I can't see you;
Hiding behind an open door;
Peering at the treasures;
That you've never seen before;

Brush strokes on parchment paper;
Covering the lines I try to hide;
You step over the threshold;
Crossing into the other side;

My life is not a mystery;
A secret that I keep;
I am waiting here for you;
As you step into the deep;

How can I convince you;
To give my heart a try;
You will never know true love;
If you let it pass you by;

Life is too short;
Not to heed love's call;
I will be your safety net;
If you should ever fall;

Love is right here waiting;
Just behind this open door;
Filled with thoughts and pleasures;
I've never experienced before;

I am not a perfect lady;
But this much I promise you;
I will give you everything;
And I promise to be true;

I can see you hiding;
Behind that open door;
Peering at the treasures;
That you've never seen before

    There's something about this that I like, can't put my finger on it. Probably the way it bounces, like the last two lines, brilliant.

    This is really good Lisa. I can just picture someone lingering in an open doorway, poking their head in to see whats going on.

    What is behind door number one? Excellent piece of work as usual.

    Very inviting to someone standing at the door contemplating whether to step into love. Thanks for sharing.
