Behind the Scenes - Big Brother 9 - 2/20/08

This is the day of the live show where Parker and Jen were evicted. James and Chelsia won the HOH competition during the live show. After the show aired, James and Chelsia got their new HOH room and all their gifts from home, some of which the used to get sloppy drunk which resulted in both of them passing out in separate areas of the house.

The day begins with Big Brother waking the Houseguests up just before nine in the morning. Shelia had already been awake and up for an hour by then. After eating breakfast, everyone began getting dressed and primped for the live show. Parker started his morning by venting his anger to everyone.

Matt and Natalie got into a tiff in the kitchen. Natalie and Allison go into the storage room to talk and Matt follows them in there. Natalie tells him that he keeps hurting her feelings. He tells her that he's "got to work on that." She is crying and telling him that they have to get to know each other and says "I just want to talk to you for five minutes." Matt asks "Why are you crying?" With that, Allison leaves the room. Matt apologizes to her and hugs her. She tells him "Every time I walk into a room, you leave." He replied "I apologize.. I'll work on it." Natalie expressed her concern that other people in the house were noticing Matt being with other girls and that makes her look bad. Matt told her that he will try to be nicer to her, but "I just don't like to talk.. that's just me." Natalie was not letting him get away with that and told him "That's a lie.. You talk to everyone else.. five minutes.. that's all I ask.. People feel bad for me." Matt replies "Who cares? They know you're sensitive.. That's how they are going to crack us.. Parker is not my friend.. Alex is not my friend.. People are here to win a game.. People here are not your friends.. Josh and Sharon are not your friends.. They want to win." With that they go back out and continue getting ready for the live show.

After the show airs, Allison decides she no longer wants people believing she and Shelia are a couple. She is worried how aligning so closely with Shelia will affect her in the game. Allison tells James the truth about their lesbian relationship. She says she does not want people believing she and Shelia are a couple because she does not like the way Shelia is playing the game now. The whole crying incident from the day before "Freaked me out."

Word spreads through the "Operation Condor" alliance and Chelsia and Josh whisper about the reason Allison and Shelia could have had to make up something like that. ("Operation Condor 101" - CLICK HERE) Josh says the whole thing is "Messed up.. They'll lie about everything if they're gonna lie about their own life." They become concerned that if Allison and Shelia tell the whole house about their fake lesbian relationship, it will reflect badly on them (Chelsia and Josh) for keeping a secret that was not even true! James joined their conversation and told them that Adam told him Shelia's drama about the vote was all her own plan and he had nothing to do with it.

Just before seven PM, James and Chelsia got their HOH room. Chelsia got a pink and black blanket from home, photos, Nine Inch Nail CD, candy, wine and beer. James got photos, Bloody Mary mix, liquor, Ramen, cream soda and Axe. Chelsia and James moved their clothes and stuff into the room and Natalie joined them to look at their photos.

It is important to note that they did not receive any letters from home. Alex and Amanda did not either. This is most likely due to Evil Dick getting a coded letter from his son last season.

Because of the choices they made during the HOH competition, the women have to cook dinner for their own men. Shelia and Adam have been fussing with each other and Shelia is so angry with Adam that Amanda has to keep telling her that she will get into trouble if she does not cook some food for Adam. After Amanda tries several times to get Shelia to come into the kitchen to cook for Adam, Allison give it a try. Adam and Shelia start yelling back and forth at each other and Allison is unsuccessful at intervening in the situation.

Meanwhile, Chelsia and James are in the HOH room making Bloody Marys and getting drunk. Because the house gave up drinking cups during the HOH competition, James and Chelsia are drinking from bowls.

Shelia finally gives in and cooks dinner for Adam.

James and Chelsia stay in their HOH room, drinking, talking strategy and how being on Big Brother is not going to make them famous. James suggests putting Adam and Shelia up as pawns and using the excuse that Shelia is only here to promote her book. James believes that Josh and Sharon think they are puppet masters. They agree to lie to others in the game, but not to each other. Chelsia suggests they go downstairs, but James does not want to yet he understands how it will look to the rest of the house if they do not make an appearance.

James and Chelsia continue talking and drinking. James is reading some instructions from Big Brother to them as HOH and learns that they have to make their nominations the next day. They refill their drinks and head downstairs.

After dinner, James and Chelsia go back to the HOH bedroom and get into a major make out session. Afterwards, they both end up passed out in separate parts of the house. After James and Chelsia make out, James goes outside to talk to Ryan. He tells him that he likes Chelsia and they made out. Adam joins the two of them and James tells them about the whole lesbian thing. Ryan told them that the whole thing was faked and "It's nothing to worry about because Allison did it because she felt left out." Their conversation turns to Operation Condor ("Operation Condor 101" CLICK HERE) and that it is now a "Full go." They discuss who to put up with Alex and Amanda. Ryan says he is owed a week off because he was just on the block.

Shortly thereafter, James passes out (CLICK HERE).

Sharon and Amanda talk about working together on splitting up Shelia and Allison. Alex comes in and finds them scheming, they tell him what they are talking about, but he does not say anything. He had asked Amanda not to run around behind his back doing just this.

Sharon begins her mission to get herself and Josh put on the block as pawns. She goes to Josh to plant the seed by telling him that if they went up as pawns, they would not lose Alex and Amanda's vote in the end. Josh believes Amanda will vote against him, regardless. Sharon insists that Amanda "Pinky swore" that she would not. Josh is not having any of this and told Sharon she was crazy.

Everyone goes to bed early for Big Brother standards, with the whole house in bed by one in the morning.
