Behind the Scenes - Big Brother 9 - 2/23/08

After all the drama from the previous day, with Shelia and Allison fighting and then Amanda and Allison being rushed to the hospital, this day was one of the funner days in the house. There was still a fight, but they treated it as if they were on The Jerry Springer Show. They got their Margarita Party and they got pretty raunchy with it. CBS will have a difficult time finding a clip of it to air on television.

Early in the morning, both Amanda and Allison were called into the Diary Room to see the doctor to follow up on their emergency room visits the previous night. Both of them went back to sleep and Big Brother allowed everyone to sleep in.

Josh was the first one up at ten-thirty. Natalie woke up forty-five minutes later and says that she feels much better.

Everyone who is on slop gets to eat regular food for the day and Amanda grabs a bowl of fruit loops and a banana with peanut butter. She says her head hurts and Natalie tells her that she fell flat on the floor and hit her head.

When Allison wakes up, she makes sure several people in the house know where she is keeping her epipen in case she has another allergic reaction.

The morning conversation is mostly about the party that night.

The three sick girls get the bright idea to go hang out in the sauna. Allison nearly died the previous night. Amanda had seizures and passed out. Natalie had a fever, headache and nausea. When the hot water comes back on, Sharon runs to tell everyone and she thinks it is because of the POV Ceremony.

Since it is raining again in the Big Brother House, James says he is going back to bed. Josh goes upstairs to talk to James and Chelsia and tells them that he is not going to use the Veto because he does not trust the votes. He is afraid that both couples would end up staying and that would mean that James and Chelsia would be up on the block the next week and he was not going to let that happen. Josh tells them what he is going to say during the Veto Ceremony.

Their conversation turns to the lesbian story. Chelsia says that she hopes it is true because it would be the first time Big Brother has had two lesbians on the show.

Later, Allison joins James and Chelsia in the HOH room. James and Chelsia warn her not to share anything about the game with Shelia. After Allison leaves, James and Chelsia start making out.

Dinner was Chicken Fajitas to go with the fact that they are getting ready to have a Margarita Party. When they finish eating, they are placed on an outdoor lockdown so the staff can prepare for the party. They are all standing outside, trying to huddle where they won't get stuck out in the rain. The Margarita Party started just before eight and there was a one hour time limit for the party. Because of the time limit, they all tried to drink as quickly as possible, resulting in brain-freeze. There was a pinata with prizes in it and they broke it open and spilled everything to the floor. They were excited about all the toys. They got temporary tattoos, rings, colored lip gloss, Chinese handcuffs and other little toys. Everyone got a sombrero. At this point, things begin to change from "G" rated to "PG" to "R" and then to "X." The girls all apply temporary tattoos to each other's bodies in various places. James is not the only one to get naked this time. They play around with their colored lip glosses and go around kissing each other. After the party, they have to back outside so the staff can clean up the party. It began to hail while they were outside and Chelsia and James ran out and laid down in it.

Right after the party, Natalie gets upset with Matt and after she tries unsuccessfully to talk to him about it, the girls all convince her to confront him in front of all the guys. What ends up happening is the house playing "The Jerry Springer Show." The entire house (Minus Shelia who is in the Diary Room) sits down on the couch as the audience. Natalie and Matt stand in front of all them and argues. Natalie makes her point about how Matt treats her and everything gets settled in the end. Natalie, Chelsia, Josh, Amanda, Alex and Sharon all sit around rehashing the fight. Shelia comes out of the Diary Room after everything is over and Josh asked her if she wanted drama. She said "No." He replied, "Keep on walking then!"

Big Brother gives Amanda some type of diabetic medication and informs everyone that all the slop people are back on slop the next day. Tomorrow is Bikini Day too (From the HOH Competition).

Natalie told Matt that Adam told her that they were put on the block because they voted for Jen and Parker to stay. Matt went to Adam and Adam told Matt that it is still all about Operation Condor and getting Amanda out.

Amanda, Matt and Shelia lay in bed and talk about a question they learn that they were all asked in the Diary Room. Even though they did not know anything about it, they were told they had to give an answer. They were all asked "How do you feel about the Hudson River Virus affecting those isolated from the outside world?" None of them knew what the Hudson River Virus was.

After hearing this, I researched the answer and everything became clear. This week's POV Competition was themed after the CBS show "Jericho" and the Hudson River Virus is something from that show. It is all an advertising set up. The Hudson River Virus is not real. It is from the television show "Jericho." The new episode they are trying to promote talks about using the Hudson River Virus as a biological weapon. (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/jericho/)

Shelia said that she did not get it and she wants to know whether it is real or made up.

While the rest of the house was settling to sleep, James and Chelsia were in their HOH room kissing and pillow talking. James told her that he wants "To do something that would look bad on TV."
