Behind the Scenes - Big Brother 9 - 3/1/08 - Part One

Lots of drama and crazy stuff happened today and you just have to know about all of it. The day is divided into two parts. Part One covers wake up time, Allison and Shelia making amends, a surprise letter from Big Brother to the Houseguests, and Allison attempting to bait Joshuah into another argument. Part Two covers Ryan trying to control Allison, Allison fooling around with James and Chelsia in bed, Josh and Natalie Blessing the house, Josh and Natalie putting tin foil hats on their heads to protect themselves from evil, and Josh coming to terms with God.

Part One:

Matt is the first one up at ten-twenty in the morning. Big Brother wakes everyone else up ten minutes later. Adam and James stay in bed. Matt and Ryan go outside together and talk about the game and getting Josh and Sharon out next week. Matt brings up the lesbian couple lie and Ryan said they just made that up and he cannot understand why. Matt said that it was a bad move. Ryan agreed.

Allison starts trashing Shelia before breakfast is even made. She complains to Natalie that she does not understand why Shelia has flipped on her and is being so mean to her.

Sharon and Josh stay upstairs in the HOH room while everyone else is up and talking in the kitchen. Sharon and Josh are talking about Allison, the game and having to lose the HOH room on Wednesday.

Shelia and Natalie talk in the spa room while doing their nails. Natalie talks about Karma saying "You get out what you put out. Period." She talks about "Everything happens for a reason." Shelia said "I wish I loved my hometown like you do." Shelia talks about Memphis, saying how great it is, but that she just does not have that deep love for it as she can tell Natalie loves her hometown. Natalie tells Shelia how green, lush and colorful Oregon is. Shelia tells her about the Blue Ridge Mountains being similar. She has a brother in Asheville, North Carolina, so she talks about how beautiful it is there (Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9Db-Hw9zEo).

Meanwhile, Sharon and Josh are still up in the HOH room talking. Sharon wants to avoid dealing with Matt because he has been trying to get close to her and he thinks it is working. Josh says they have to make Adam and Shelia face the fact that they have not done anything yet in the game.

Allison tells James and Chelsia that Shelia is not stable and is going to talk to her about it, but worries what Shelia will concoct from the conversation, as she takes everything and turns it around. Allison said Shelia will lie to her anyway, so it is pointless to talk to her in a way. She tells them that she loves them and that "Ryan and I will push you to the end." When Allison leaves the room, James and Chelsia grin at each other and go back to their snuggling.

Ryan, Matt and Adam join James and Chelsia in the bedroom and talk about random topics. They discuss the possibility of there being another All-Stars Big Brother and who would be on it. When they ask Matt where Natalie is, he says he set her up on a play date today and she's doing her nails with Shelia. They all laugh, then Adam says he can't take the "Where's Matty anymore."

James and Adam go out to the hot tub to talk while Allison does laps in the back yard. Adam said "She can't campaign yet because she doesn't know who's going up. That's the beauty of it." They talk about the band-aids James has to put over parts of his tattoos, and what each one says. Allison stops exercising and goes into the spa room where Shelia and Natalie are talking and they change their enjoyable socializing into a conversation about nails. Natalie is still doing her nails and that is what they talk about (Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Jz0qu2z5SY).

Allison confronted Shelia about how Shelia is distancing herself from her. They get into an argument, and Natalie leaves the room. Almost the entire house is listening in on their conversation. They eventually make up and tell each other that they love each other and that this is just a game. When Shelia and Allison had hugged and made up, Shelia went to talk to Josh and Chelsia about what she and Allison talked about. She told Josh to do whatever he had to do because she was not afraid. Josh told her that she had nothing to fear.

As Allison was going to talk to Ryan, she overheard James tell Adam that Adam had his vote. She told Ryan to work on James.

Shelia talks to Josh more about what she and Allison talked about saying that Josh is scary and she did not want him coming after her, so she had to do what she had to do to keep Josh from coming after her. She said she told Allison "One of us is going home this week. Do you understand the severity of that? One of us are going home. Face it." Josh said "She doesn't get it." Josh teases Shelia about how much time she spent talking to Natalie. They talk about how convinced Allison is that James and Chelsia are going to vote for her to stay. The Houseguests are put on an outdoor lockdown and when they come back inside, twenty minutes later, there is an envelope on the table. The envelope says they all have to be together when they read the letter. Everyone sat down on the living room couch and read it:

"Houseguests, I have an important announcement. Sometime in the coming weeks, you will hear a distinct sound over the speakers. When you hear this sound, you must all gather at once in this place and wait for instructions, and be aware, this could happen at any time. Expect the unexpected, Big Brother."

They are all excited about what it could be. Chelsia says it will be when they are all sleeping. Sharon and Josh go to the HOH room and Sharon tells him that people are coming back into the game. Josh does not think so. Chelsia comes up to the HOH room and Sharon tells her her theory. Chelsia said she thinks it will be a short season and that no one will be coming back. James joined them in the room and they all talk about what could be happening. James mentions the Hudson River Virus. Josh thinks the season will be ending on March 25. James said that it could be a competition where if you lose, you get the virus and have to go home and your partner stays. They all agree, no matter what it really is, it will not be good for them.

James goes outside to smoke with Matt. Matt is upset that James did not celebrate the POV win with him. James jokingly pushed the comment aside. He told Matt that Allison offered him a week's salary and cigarettes if he voted to keep her. James went in and shook Allison's hand on the deal. Allison said she will have to sleep with Adam to get the cigarettes. When Allison and Ryan were playing chess later, she told Ryan that James took the deal and the shook on it.

The letter from Big Brother has prompted the Houseguests to re-visit the whole Hudson River Virus thing and they think it has something to do with the letter. Some believe it means someone is coming back into the game, but Josh said that a virus kills people, so someone would be leaving the game.

Allison tells both Ryan and Adam at different times that Josh is getting ready to blow up at her again tonight. She said she can see the tornado brewing. But she keeps going up to Josh, asking him why he is so mad at her. She seems to be trying to start a fight with him tonight for some reason. Allison asked "I don't understand why you're being so hateful to me." Josh replied "I made a vow to the whole house that I would not talk to you." Matt and Sharon went upstairs during the fight, to nap because Allison had woken Matt up from his nap to try to get him involved. Matt is working his charm on Sharon, telling her he has never touched Natalie and is not attracted to her. They start talking game and Josh comes in and the three of them try to figure out what is going to happen next. Josh does not stay long, he heads down to the sauna with Natalie and James.

Matt and Sharon keep laying in bed together talking, mostly about Natalie. Sharon told Matt how nice it was to be able to come to the HOH room and get away from all the drama in the house. They started talking about the contracts and length of the show and speculating on how long it will go on and how stir crazy everyone already is. Josh had been in the hot tub with Natalie and he came back upstairs. Matt asked him where Natalie was and Josh said "Prowling." They look on the spy screen and see her coming up the stairs. She walks in and says she needs to be in the drama free zone.
