Call it love, call it caring, call it what you will. Kids need to be praised when they do good, and kept out of trouble so by being paid attention to. They need hugs and kisses and stories and singing, and someone to assure them they can have fun with a ball in these jaded times. They see all these cartoons with hitting, and fart jokes and double entendres, when they really need to run and play. Sure kids will misbehave, but at two years old they need lots of attention so they don't end up in a negative cycle of misbehavior and acting out and punishment. The first thing a preschool teacher or even a mother needs to do is assure them they can have fun with a simple ball or blocks so they can entertain themselves for hours while you do your chores as the case may be.
Never forget the power of praise and positivity. A negative attitude does no good. It just puts you in a foul mood, and blowing up at a child just makes them depressed and start to act out. You need to calmly redirect them to a better activity. You have to always be thinking a step ahead of them and if you know they are prone to get into trouble, they need extra love and attention to get them on the right track. But don't ignore the good ones, the quiet ones that behave. Have them sit on your lap as you read them a story or some other good activity. Encourage them to grow and explore. I like to have the ones that wake up early do a quiet activity like coloring so that they don't disturb the others.
Remember they are little people trying to figure out their place in this world. If they are told they are bad and can't do anything right, they learn to think negatively. While one of these youngsters can turn around with a little redirection. This one "monster" helped me clean up after I had spent extra time with him, developing a feeling of trust and a relationship with him as his care taker. He sits quietly for me while I change his diaper and he likes to go on the swing. He still gets into scuffles. But they are getting further between. I try to get him to run to get some energy out and redirect it into a more positive way. If a child feels fight or flight and learns to get some of those negative feelings out without hurting anyone, he learns an important lesson about himself that he doesn't have to be a bad person.
I know how to get little ones to redirect their energies after learning about the importance of paying attention and being present right now. I also believe that as a Christian, God can perform miracles. I have seen women diagnosed with endometriosis cured, I have seen healing in my own life. And I have seen the power of positivity in my own life. By being loving and caring to children, and helping them to learn to play confidently, I have seen little things move in my favor. I got started at a high rate, and I am going to receive training to be a preschool teacher. And I will be loving on Gods most precious gift, our little children. I can't wait till I get married and have my own. I think having them go to daycare for a while is good, it can give them the ability to survive later on. Maybe let them stary home for a while, but learn to socialize some how. But you need a good daycare. Not everyone knows how to communicate with toddlers or encourage them to play and have fun. This is the best time of their life and can make the difference between being miserable or positive later on. They need to learn to be self confident and caring and need encouragement to do their best.
We all need good childhoods, and being a daycare worker can make the difference in someone's life.
