Recycled Scraps Handbags
The most popular type of "green" handbags made are ones using recycled scraps of material such as leather, cotton, and other fibers. It could from an original product (such as a common t-shirt) or simply leftover refuse that came out from the loom during the manufacturing process. This process helps eliminate excess waste, and puts any leftover material to a good and beneficial use.
Recycled Car Parts Handbags
Distinguished accessories brands such as Harveys have come out with their unique "seatbelt" bags, where the bags are literally made out of car seatbelts. Also, some online retailers actually sell sleek professional looking briefcase and purse made out of recycled rubber tires.
Snack Wrapper/Candy Wrapper Handbags
Individual sellers on handmade craft websites such as Etsy.com will sell their creations of handbags and coin purses made from all sorts of wrapper - chip bags, chocolate bar wrappers, and even hamburger paper wrap. All are from previous manufactured food goods and are reused to make unique and bright colored designed accessories.
Other Recycled Materials Handbags
Whatever material that can be recycled or reused can pretty much be made into any handbag accessory. I have seen handbags, backpacks, and small purses all made out of unique recycled content such as recycled juice boxes, expired billboard ads, seashells, previous record albums, greeting cards, and old newspaper print.
Handbags and other accessories made from recycled and reused materials are becoming more accessible and can be found in department stores and online retailers worldwide. Many of these retailers will even donate some portions of the proceeds to specific charities. Purchasing and using a recycled handbag not only improves and benefits the environment, but also helps others who are hurting in other parts of the world.
