Being Healthy Only Takes 5 Minutes

There are many things that you can do in your life that will help you to stay healthy, safe, and ensure your overall wellbeing. However, did you know that there are things that take 5 minutes each day that you can do to improve your life? Here are 8 main things you can do that take anywhere from 5 seconds to 5 minutes to complete.

Review Vaccinations

Getting your shots and ensuring that your family has their vaccinations can be a life saver for many people and children. If you are not sure what vaccinations you need one simple call to your doctor will get you the answer. Vaccinations keep us from getting sick and having life threatening illnesses.

Buckle Up

Even if you are not driving it is important to still buckle up in the backseat or passenger seat. Most states have laws that state you must buckle up or get a ticket. Over half of the children in car seats are not buckled in properly or the car seat isn't secured appropriately. Every time you get in a vehicle put your seat belt on.

Take Vitamins

Staying healthy starts with what you put in your body. Taking a daily multi-vitamin that is gender and age appropriate can help to keep your bones stronger and your body healthier. Don't forget the kids too. Vitamins are good for everyone at any age. If you are not sure what type of vitamin will best fit your specific needs call your doctor.

Wash Your Hands

Eating healthy will benefit you in more ways than one. Make sure you eat the daily recommended calories and food groups for your age and weight. Read food labels and stay away from foods that are high in sodium and fat. Try to pick things that are low fat and high in fiber.

Smoke Alarms

On the first day of each month check your smoke alarms. Make sure each one is working and none need new batteries. If you have a smoke detector that needs maintenance or to be replaced, do this as soon as possible.
