Being a Mother

A Poem for Mother's Day

Cheryl Williams
Sometimes being a mom can be hard,

but the joys far outweigh the sorrows.

Every smile is tempered with a few tears.

Every tear is but a bud on the verge of blooming.

To hold your newborn babe,

guide and nurture until adulthood
is a journey of love.

It means knowing when to hold close,

and knowing when to step aside.

It means knowing when to shelter,

and when to allow the pain.

Growth does not come if you hold too tightly.

Growth does not come if you neglect.

Being a mom means learning to find that

perfect balance of love.
